It is not yet established because the class action litigation is still ongoing, but this specific filter is allegedly not HEPA. I have two Bluair ones and two C535 (one from Costco and one from Winix). Winix's ones look so much simpler, thinner. Let's see how the lawsuit is settled (most likely, Winix will not admit any fault, settle, and pay a small amount). We will never know as the matter wont be finally adjudicated. Oh well, I will continue to buy this filter thinking it is true-true HEPA lol

I voted with my wallet. I don't buy Winix any longer due to the very well known issues with the fan bearings whining loudly after a short amount of time. I returned my units to Costco where applicable and used credit card extended warranty for the rest. I've been using Coway and Levoit for a couple of years now and so far running as good as day one with no noise. Winix is the epitomy of the cheap printer/ink model for air filtration.
