This Boost Mobile iPhone 16e port in deal is really about the low upfront price, but it comes with strict service terms. The checkout fine print says the line must stay active for at least three months, or Boost can charge the full MSRP minus what was already paid. The phone also has to be activated within 30 days, and the account may be billed automatically on the card used at checkout. Unlock timing is still a concern, with Boost policy pointing to 12 months of active service.

  • Boost's checkout terms spell out a three-month minimum service requirement to keep the discounted iPhone 16e price.

  • Boost's terms also clarify that the phone's service starts only after SIM activation, which helps define when charges begin.

  • The deal can still work out if you plan to keep the activated line in good standing for at least three months.

  • Boost's terms state that failing to maintain service for three months can trigger a charge for the phone's full MSRP.

  • Boost's terms warn that failing to activate the device within 30 days may also result in a full MSRP charge.

  • The deal's value is questionable compared with an Apple trade-in amount for the same device.

  • Boost chat support reportedly says plan downgrades during the promo period are not allowed and could lead to billing the retail price difference.

value is likely get 4-5 of these and dump them on apple to tell them to take back their locked worthless phones and then buy an unlocked iphone for 30% of the cost about what the new flag ships are really worth.

What is the unlocking policy?

The account should be active for 12 months - meaning 12 months of paid service needed as per policy.

The way I see it, the best value is to trade this to apple if you are looking to buy anything for $270. YMMV

Total Due Today $89.99
By checking this box I agree to e-transaction/e-signature, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions. Once activated I authorize Boost Mobile to automatically charge my card monthly for my Boost Mobile services, taxes and surcharges. My service will not begin until my SIM is activated. If I do not activate my Device(s) on Boost Mobile within 30 days of purchase, I may be charged the full MSRP of the Device(s) (less my purchase price), if applicable, to the card used today or any alternative method. If I am purchasing a discounted Device and do not maintain service on the activated line for a minimum of three months, I will owe the full MSRP (less any amount already paid).

I've read some comments saying that you're required to keep the same plan and price for the full 12 months. Is that actually true, or can we downgrade to a cheaper plan at some point? That would completely change the deal

Yes. Boost has a loan shark type of business model. Don't fall for it unless you have protections in place.

I guess if you had to ask, you probably don't have any or don't know how to use what you have. I wouldn't mess with them if I were you.

For such customers who purchase a discounted Device from the Boost Mobile website only, if you do not maintain Service in good standing on the activated line for a minimum of three months then we will automatically collect from your payment method on file the full suggested retail price, less any discounted price already paid.
