Once you own the Kindle version, the Audible price should drop.

Finished the book but wasn't into it. I'm a big gamer not so much an RPG or D&D guy but the book is so granular about all the power up and stuff I just got bored. The beginning is way too much tutorial as well. IDK I'm sure some people will be into it I just didn't find it that funny or interesting.
Totally fair. I will say that the first is by far the worst and the story gets a lot richer as it goes. Possibly to its detriment; I finished seven well before eight came out and I've been stalling on picking it up because I'm concerned I need a detailed refresher on where the various characters stand and what all the dangling plot points are.

Only the physical books have it. And I think only hard cover. It was added as bonus for Penguin House publishing

This is so worth reading but the audiobook is just so much better. The narrator is amazing and will be included in the upcoming tv show. All I can say is Uzi Jesus (book 6.)

Hey all, I'm 60+ yo. I heard this is great for young adults, but, is it filled with (Gen-whatever it is now) slang? I'm old school at the end of GenX.

Nah, I am a GenXer and I enjoy it. There's more to the story, characters, and world-building as the series progresses.
Kindle Unlimited has the entire series included in the subscription which you can do a free 3-month trial.

How can I get the audiobook that cheap? It's $22.50 on Audible.
All of the kindle ebooks are fairly cheap for the series (about $5-7 per book), but they are also on Kindle Unlimited. So if you want just the audiobooks and don't care about having the ebooks, the most affordable way is to get a month of Kindle Unlimited (or do a trial), add the ebooks to your Kindle Unlimited library, go to the product page for each book of the series, then click on the Audible audibook button. It should show the prices as being the same cost to add them to your account as if you had fully purchased the kindle ebooks, which is usually around $5-7 per audiobook.

But you could also just buy the first book for $1 today and pay $6 to see if you like it enough before buying the rest. As others have said, the first book is very granular with showing how the battles work as the characters are also learning how it works. But as the books continue, the focus of the actual play-by-play of the battles goes down in favor of the world-building, relationships, and the characters' pasts. If it hadn't changed the storytelling after book 1 or 2, I would have had to drop them too. Book 3 is when it really clicked for me, but it definitely gets better as it goes on. I'm finishing up book 6 at the moment.
