Very good looking and super comfortable shoes but mine didn't last more than 3 months there's a reason why adidas is trying to get rid of them for a low price tag

What happened at 3 months? If it's truly boost foam it shouldn't wear out that quick.

The Ultraboost 5X comes across as a very comfortable walking and light running shoe with a soft, supportive feel and a thicker sole than earlier Ultraboost versions. It looks good, handles long daily walks well, and the current price around $50 after tax is framed as a strong value. Fit can be tricky because the opening is hard to get into and the shoe runs narrow. Durability concerns also show up, including mesh that can cut easily outdoors, squeaking, and reports of pairs wearing out or developing holes within months.

Common Questions (5)

They can hold up well for daily walking and indoor work shifts, with one pair lasting 200+ miles of 8-10 miles a day while keeping cushion and appearance. But there are also reports of pairs falling apart in about 3 months or developing holes in the foam, so rough use may shorten their life.

The shoe can feel narrow and is reported to be hard to get your foot into, even when sizing up by half a size. That makes fit and entry a common concern for people with wider feet or high insteps.
rly723 dizzymon247
Yes, they are described as a strong walking shoe with soft cushioning and good comfort over long daily walks. At around $50 after tax, they are also viewed as a solid value for that use case.
richycox WiseOstrich527
The upper is a delicate fine mesh that feels comfortable and supportive, but it can snag and cut easily outdoors. It is better suited to indoor use or smoother surfaces than trail running or other rough contact.
arm&hammer
They can squeak loudly, and that has been a deal-breaker for some wearers. The issue is notable enough that it may matter if you want a quiet shoe for indoor use.

I've got too many pairs but if I was in the market for some road running shoes or walking shoes, these would be it. If you want something soft for long car rides, I don't recommend these. Get the Ultraboost 1.0.

Other than much thicker sole these feel as cheap as in 19.20, etc. this is a fair price level but anything above $80 I'd pass. I bought a black pair earlier this year. And then Thai same one listed.

Oddly I think my favorite shoe purchase so far this year are the all black adidas barreda. I bought a couple pairs for $25 each and will buy more if another sale pops up

I've put 200+ miles on 1 pair just doing my daily walking in the park. I walk about 8-10 miles a day and they are comfortable the entire walk. 220lb male So far they still have good cushion and are still looking good. I dont do anything rough with them so ymmv

Yeah that's the one thing I found with the 1.0's as well. Getting your foot in is harder than the 5x.

Are you using them to walk over jagged rocks and molten lava?

I have 6 different pairs of Ultraboost 5x's and have only had a graphics issue on one shoe where the paint chipped off the sole in a couple small areas.

Don't believe the naysayers. These are incredible shoes and especially at this price point.

I think the guy needs to see a chiropractor or an orthopedist. I have 6 pairs of these (different colors) and NONE of them have worn in any way.

Totaly true the upper on these is a delicate fine mesh. SOon as I got them went for a run. On my first run great fit, good width and very comfortable and supportive, but at mile 10 my foot hit a twig on the trail, the twig fliped up and hit the top and got a small cut on the top of the shoe. Mad

Great indoor shoe but not for outdoors.

Maybe you need trail running shoes. These are incredible road shoes.

Ditto, on the other Ultraboosts, both pairs I have for casual wear wore out in less than a year (others usually last me many years). The rubber traction wore out and into to the foam very quickly.
