I've been using this mower for over 6 years in the PNW, and it has been reliable. Not for super thick grass but for adequately maintained lawns. The twin sets of batteries makes it complete, and a good starter for getting into Greenworks tools if you don't already have a complete power tool set. Like Ryobi, Greenworks tools are affordable and good enough quality for homeowners.

Wow, that's catastrophic failure. I'd be questioning the brand's quality, too.
I sometimes mow/mulch wet grass, then scrape away damp clumps under the deck before storing in the dry garage. Zero signs of rust so far, though no scratches from rocks so I think the paint layer is intact.
EGO makes good electric mowers, with 10-year warranty on composite decks and lifetime warranty on aluminum decks... but you'll pay double the price. Worth it if you live near salt water or frequently hit gravel.

I didn't use it after raining or in the mornings, still the metal corroded and the middle fell through. Now I'm debating if I should buy the same brand because I got two good batteries and if I should be pleased with 5 years of use.
