GameSir G8 Plus is a full size telescoping mobile controller that feels solid and works well for phones, tablets, and cloud gaming. It fits foldables, an 11 inch iPad, and even a Samsung Tab S7 with the case on, while the Hall effect sticks, gyroscope, swappable buttons, and comfortable grip make it appealing for emulation and on the go play. USB C support and the bottom port help with wired use and different orientations. The main drawbacks are Bluetooth latency in some games, occasional button placement quirks, and a firmware change that broke DS4 mode until a downgrade.

  • The controller works well with iPad 11-inch setups and also supports Samsung Tab S7 use with a case on.

  • The controller can feel responsive with no input lag reported in real-world use, including mobile gaming and cloud streaming.

  • The controller can connect via USB-C to consoles, which supports wired play without relying on Bluetooth.

  • The controller's lack of a USB-C port in the middle helps support different phone or tablet orientations during play.

  • Bluetooth performance can vary by game, with FPS, racing, and sports titles showing noticeable lag.

  • Magnetic face buttons can fall off, and replacement parts reportedly cost around $25 on Etsy with no official replacements.

  • The two buttons directly under the D-pad can be easy to accidentally press during D-pad use.

  • A firmware update reportedly breaks the DS4 mode button combination, and fixing it required downgrading to firmware 2.18.

Yes you can use USB-C to connect this controller to console. It is also mentioned in the manual: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1...1721113512
It's through the USB C port on the bottom FYI, it's not at the side like every other telescoping controller

Received mines yesterday. It's much larger and nicer than the Backbone One. After I upgraded the firmware with the Gamesir app the button combination to enter ds4 mode wouldn't work. I fixed it by downgrading to firmware 2.18. Either they changed the button combo or ds4 mode is completely broken in the latest firmware.

How do you downgrade the firmware? Does the app have that option?

Yes you can use the gamesir app on Android. There's a firmware update section in the settings of the controller that allows you to upload older firmware files. You can download the firmware files from the Gamesir discord.
