This Verizon switch offer bundles an iPhone 18 Pro with an iPad or Apple Watch, but the real appeal is only for people who want postpaid service and can use the device credits. The strongest case is convenience, since the phones can be financed, the line can include in person support, and the promo can help offset the cost of expensive devices. The main catch is the required service, with a base plan, Pro add on, and device line fees pushing the three year total far above the hardware value. Coverage and verification hassles also show up in the comments, so the deal works best when Verizon service itself is already the goal.
Common Questions (4)
No. The promo requires paying for Verizon service over a 36-month contract, with a base Simplicity plan plus a Pro add-on and, for the tablet/watch, an extra data line. The mandatory service charges and taxes can push the total cost to roughly $4,100+, which can exceed the value of the devices.
The cheapest tablet or watch line is about $10 per month over 36 months, or roughly $360 total. That cost is separate from the phone plan and is part of the mandatory service spend for the promo.
The phones are tied to the 36-month promo period, but one commenter says Verizon unlocks them after about 60 to 90 days for international use. Another notes the remaining balance can be paid down and the line can be moved later, but the promo value depends on staying long enough to receive the bill credits.
No. The offer reportedly only applies to iPhone 18 Pro models priced above $1,200, and the base iPhone 18 Pro is listed at $1,199.99. That means the cheapest model may not qualify for the full promo.

This is great deal. I do use pre-paid but that is not for everyone & Verizon is an evil empire kind of company but not my battle right now.
Lots of people can't buy a $1200 phone and $600 tablet outright. (plus good credit cards offer cell phone insurance with monthly plans)
Beyond that as you said jobs may be paying, or in the case of my family we plan to switch from pre-paid to T-mobile for 'free upfront' iPhones and 4 lines for $100. Which is very hard to beat without lots of pre-paid plan switching.
Not to mention because I will pay monthly my credit card will provide cell insurance for all the phones and I will switch to T-Mobile home internet for more discounts.
Also my Dad can go into a store when he needs some help and I am not around or he just want to get out.
Sometimes that having some else handle that help alone is worth serious $$$ equivalents.
So for Verizon people this is great deal.
When we got my wife's 16 they added it for "free" and then we had to take it off the line because they were immediately trying to charge us for it the next month despite her never even wanting it.

T-Mobile isn't better at all. Full bar signal with 5G UC but can't load crap at times.
Correct, if you have a job that is paying or giving you an allowance, fine. But if you are a normal 'Verizon person' paying out of your own pocket, this is a financial disaster.
You can do that on a prepaid plan too, it doesn't require or have anything to do with buying the phone under this promo.
Again, that wouldn't be different without the promo. Your dad can still walk into a store and get help. I wouldn't recommend taking an iphone to the verizon store, they are not tech support. He can go to the apple store like anyone else and get the exact same support and help.
No it isn't if you are a regular person. I'm not here to convince you to save hundreds of dollars, you can do the math yourself and see you are not getting anything beyond at least $900 more in wasted spending doing this promo.
I do usually use prepaid, currently with Mint and last year Visible. Year before that Mint, year before that someone else. I once had 18 months free by switching phones numbers every single month. I still think this is a great deal.
You are not accepting that many people do not want to jockey/port from prepaid provider to prepaid provider every year which is the way to get the extreme savings. At least it is how I have done it (Also some risk exists of the smaller pre-paid providers going out of business or being very very hard to get customer services from.)
Many of the best prepaid plans are 12 months at a time, so no cell credit card coverages. All the cards I personally have do require monthly recurring billing for the potential coverages, maybe some cards don't?
My dad ( who was an hypothetical example, we are not choosing Verizon, rather T-Mobile for the 4 lines $100) can't easily walk into an Apple store but he can walk into Verizon or T-Mobile. There are not many Apple stores. (I will say as a side note my dad would absolutely hate the Apple store experience - 100% hate it. I don't like it either but understand how to deal with it.) Verizon or T-Mobile will also help him with service issues and things like that. Neither Verizon/T-Mobile or the Apple store is going to be ideal of course. I try to help when possible but he lives well over an hour away each direction without traffic.
Last time I was in the Apple store to get 0% financing you had to choose AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon postpaid services and could not just walk out will a phone. You could switch afterwards though. You also could not chose 36months. I don't know about now nor do I have the Apple card but I think this is the case today.
Whatever. I'm not doing this deal it's not for me but my buddy is. (he also specifically needs Verizon coverage)
I am also never buying a BMW SUV because a Honda CRV is always a better deal. I also only buy my clothes at Costco because everything at Macy's & Nordstrom's is super over priced. Still for some folks Bimmers and Ralph Lauren are good deals when on sale. This is a good Verizon deal.

Free line from Spectrum for a year if you have internet with them is cool too. Also their Samsung free phones with trade in have been cool. Again, no contract there of course
BUT these post paid aren't all bad. I've done the Mint, Tello, Spectrum stuff, and last year did the Verizon iPhone 17 Pro on us thing
It was genuinely a slick deal, though, and the level of engagement showed it
It came out to unlimited for 120 a month for four lines with phones included. Yes you're stuck with them for a bit. They unlock the phones in 90 or 60 days IIRC for use internationally. And there were promos on top and codes that applied bringing it down considerably, even to half that quoted monthly amount and they've stuck almost a year later. Plus cashback offers for adding lines and 300 dollar gift card
Obviously DYOR. But as someone who used to be die hard on the used old flagship train, it sometimes makes sense to make the jump. Read the fine print
