As a boomer I've been trying to convince myself that digital games aren't so bad and they make sense from time to time but this seems like one of those games that I would only be playing at home with other people while docked so might as well get the cartridge version.

Do you think people buy and play those old collectible games without remake? There are a couple versions Zelda, or 6-7 Mario and none want to touch even give them away.

I take the opposite approach. Switch Sports Resort is the one of the few games I would recommend getting digitally over physical. There is infinite replay value and digital makes it so much easier to play a quick 10-15 minute session between other games, or just whenever you have some free time. There is an active online player-base so local multiplayer isn't the only option. The current Switch Sports is one of my most played Switch 1 games for this reason and I can't imagine I would play it as much if I had to change the cartridge each time.
That being said, I ordered this digitally direct from the eShop with discounted Costco eShop cards. So effectively $40 with no sales tax.

I personally don't like to buy Digital games unless they are very good sale, only because of the uncertainty of the digital store being open in the future, plus there is the factor of selling it later if needed/wanted to, Digital anything, you don't really buy it but acquire a revocable license to play like you own it, Physical is a different story. but that's just me, I don't mind changing the cartridge or disc if it means the whole game is in it and I don't have to depend on the internet to play, don't get me wrong I know how convenient it is going all digital but I'm kind of a rebel and I won't comply willingly.🙃

That was my logic too but apparently all those Nintendo Wii digital games from two decades ago are still working fine and accessible. So based on that I'm not really concerned that they're going to steal back the games I paid for anytime soon.
from what I've read it's also extremely rare to find a game that requires an internet connection to play. but even if it did require a quick handshake, my phone has a hotspot. I just more so like the convenience of knowing I can grab the console and go and not care about grabbing which games I might want to play. kind of like comparing bringing your DVD collection on vacation vs knowing you have Netflix.
