How many tablets to make a regular gallon of bleach. Not a cleaning solution. How many tabs equals a gallon of Clorox?

Per AIAMAZE Ultra: Yields approximately 592 ppm of available chlorine when dissolved in 1 gallon of water.Homebright: Yields approximately 450–500 ppm of available chlorine in 1 gallon of water.Dollar store is significantly cheaper then. Thanks

Most of the negative reviews refer to dropping a tablet in the toilet and being disappointed. Not how I plan to use this, so giving it a try. Also 15% off for max S&S, and I just saw a gallon of Clorox in the grocery store for over $6.

My store had a brand that was made in Great Britain, but you only got 12 tablets. Never thought I'd see something at DT made there.

This is not the same ingredient as a liquid bleach such as Chlorox. Depending on your needs, it may be OK as a laundry additive or cleaning solution, but will probably not provide the disinfecting power of a liquid sodium hypochlorite solution.

Hypochlorous acid is actually about a 100X stronger disinfectant than lye based bleach, yet is far safer and comparatively less toxic. Your body makes it itself. Dichlor dissolved is an easy and fast way to get hypochlorous acid sanitizer for routine use, but still not the cheapest, which is to make it at home using kosher salt, white vinegar (lower pH for acid stability) and a transducer.
If you're expecting to bleach jeans or want bright whites, stick to common liquid bleach since the lye plays a role. If you want to sanitize or disinfect, hocl is superior and safer.

So are these tablets color safe?

Uncertain, it would amount to concentration hocl applied and the tendency for certain colors to be more colorfast than others. Borax or 'Oxi' sodium carbonates/percarbonates are considered non-bleaching/color-safe. We use about 400 ppm hocl (handmade from salt) for our sanitized wash loads on towels, etc, and have seen no color fade, likely because its quite diluted by the time the washer fills on that portion of the cycle.
