Since they don't make car batteries or alternators like they used to, these charging system testers are indispensable tools to have if you use your vehicle alot. I bought a Topdon charging system tester based on a Scotty Kilmer video recommendation and it's accuratly detected a weak battery and/or alternator, so I could get them replaced under warranty at Autozone before they died and left the vehicle stranded.

Unless it shows ripple current and that's important to you, then probably not. That said, I have the Ancel BA101 which was the top contender on Project Farm. I've owned mine society a decade though, so far before PF was around and a battery tool is something that's extremely handy to have.
