Community Reviews
US Mobile's Unlimited Starter promo stands out as a low upfront way to get six months of service, especially for anyone who wants flexibility instead of paying for a full year. The plan is compared favorably with Mint Mobile because it is $10 a month and easier to leave, and it can work well as a backup line for weak coverage or a data only setup. The main drawback is that the promo ends after six months, so the regular rate applies unless another deal appears. That makes it best for short term use or a temporary second line.
Common Questions (4)
The promo is a 6-month introductory rate, so after that period you would need to move to another plan or carrier if you want to avoid the regular price. It is most useful if you only need short-term service or want the flexibility to leave when a better deal appears.
For six months, this deal costs $60 total and lets you pay monthly, while Mint Mobile's comparable offer is $60 upfront for 6 months. If you plan to stay longer, the annual US Mobile starter promo around $199 is the better value than paying $10/month for only six months.
Yes, it can work well as a secondary line for weak coverage areas or as a dual-SIM backup. It has been used to supplement weak AT&T service at work and weak T-Mobile coverage at home, and it can also be paired with Google Voice or Wi‑Fi-only use.
The $10 rate depends on staying enrolled in autopay; if you miss it, the promo ends and the line reverts to the regular rate. Rejoining later would mean paying standard pricing again.

I dont have minutes or SMS with Shield but it hasn't been an issue. Only thing is Shield is sim card only. No esim so no apples past iPhone 13. im on Android
So in 6 months you have to find a new plan and with possible a new carrier at the new promotional rate available at that time
no need to hope. i guarantee there will be another deal then.
