Community Reviews
US Mobile's Unlimited Starter promo stands out as a low upfront way to get six months of service, especially for anyone who wants flexibility instead of paying for a full year. The plan is compared favorably with Mint Mobile because it is $10 a month and easier to leave, and it can work well as a backup line for weak coverage or a data only setup. The main drawback is that the promo ends after six months, so the regular rate applies unless another deal appears. That makes it best for short term use or a temporary second line.
The 6-month $10 monthly promo can work well for short-term needs without paying upfront for a full year.
The plan can provide practical coverage as a temporary supplement when AT&T signal is stronger at work than other carriers.
The deal can fit a dual-SIM setup when T-Mobile coverage is weak at home or in a driveway.
The service can be used with Google Voice without OTP verification problems, and it may be possible to rely on Wi‑Fi instead of porting numbers.
The promo may require switching plans or carriers again after six months, which creates risk if another deal is not available.
The 6-month $10 monthly offer may be less competitive than the annual unlimited starter promo when comparing total cost.
Missing an autopay deadline can end the $10 promo and force payment at the regular rate afterward.
Using the 6-month promo can feel inefficient because it may require repeating the signup process later for another promotional rate.

I dont have minutes or SMS with Shield but it hasn't been an issue. Only thing is Shield is sim card only. No esim so no apples past iPhone 13. im on Android
So in 6 months you have to find a new plan and with possible a new carrier at the new promotional rate available at that time
no need to hope. i guarantee there will be another deal then.
