Shin Noodle Soup is a spicy, savory instant ramen that stands out for bold flavor and easy customization. The black variety gets praise for taste, while the red is described as even more savory and cheaper. Cooking tweaks like using less seasoning, half the water, milk, American cheese, or a little ketchup can soften the heat and change the broth. The main cautions are very high sodium, intense spice, and Amazon grocery expiration dates that can be a gamble. A solid pantry staple if you like heat and do not mind adjusting it to taste.

  • Spicy-ramen fans who like to tune the broth, because the seasoning can be reduced or swapped and the heat can be softened with milk, cheese, or ketchup.

  • People who want a very hot instant noodle bowl, because the broth is extremely spicy and still tastes good enough to keep eating.

  • Shoppers comparing per-pack value on pantry staples, because the price works out to about 66 cents per pack.

  • Ramen eaters who want a firmer noodle texture, because microwaving a little less time produces a better al dente bite.

  • Shoppers who need long shelf life from pantry food, because instant ramen oil can go rancid and the flavor drops as it ages.

  • People avoiding high-sodium meals, because one pack delivers 70% of the daily sodium.

  • Buyers expecting grocery items to arrive with plenty of freshness margin, because Amazon food deals can include multipacks expiring in three months or less.

Buying food items on sale on Amazon is a crapshoot. Half the items are expiring in 3 months or less, which I would not have bought in store, especially multipacks.
I have had that happen, but honestly, in the last year, that has consistently not been my experience, if anything the opposite. I live in an expensive area, so I buy food all the time from Amazon to save money. If anything the multipacks most of us are buying are on sale, so they sell out very fast after initial release.

It's ramen...this stuff will survive the apocalypse, I'm not worried about what the exp date might be...also, I have never expired the scenario you are depicting when buying from amazon. Every food item I have purchased from amazon I have easily consumed before the expiration.
Ramen is flash fried, so it has the thinnest layer of oil on it. That oil WILL go rancid. One year past the expiration is fine, but push it to 4-5 years and you'll see.

FYI these are hot and I mean HOT. but they're so good I deal with the pain...the following morning. And go thru a handful of tissues during and after consuming. I agree with the above post, would never worry about an expiration date with ramen.(Never had the black but will look out for them considering the comments).
Squirt a couple teaspoons of ketchup into the soup, it really cools the heat and accentuates the flavor.

Microwave for 5m30s instead of 6min. The al dente turns out much better.

I got thr black on a previous deal. I was blown away with how it tasted. So good!

I splurged for some Korean made Black early last year. Definitely an upgrade on the USA made but not worth the price difference after shipping $ from Korea. This was before tariffs
