This is Costco's own MSRP, but it's $8 less than Walmart which has been Frontpaged previously for $98 (or $88 for select accounts).

Other Retailers:

Walmart [walmart.com] $98
Amazon [amazon.com] $130
B&H [bhphotovideo.com] $130
Micro Center [microcenter.com]$150
Sandisk [sandisk.com] $150
Best Buy [bestbuy.com] $182

Edit : Damn people! understand the intention, I am not saying the same card was sold for $22. I just want the low price memory days to come back!

that's not an express card in your link..... similar to usb thumb drives 2.0 is 3.0. they are different in storage architecture.

This is a 512GB microSD Express card for Switch 2, and the main draw is getting the right high speed format for Nintendo's new console. Costco's $89.99 price lands below Walmart and well under other major retailers, with the 512GB Express market still sitting above older regular microSD pricing. The card is confirmed to work with Switch 2, and the speed requirements explain why compatible cards cost more. A website shipping error is also being reported, with customer service saying to try again later. A solid option if you need Switch 2 compatible storage now.

Common Questions (3)

  • Yes. It is a microSD Express card, which the Switch 2 requires, and it will not work as a standard microSD card. The Express interface is much faster than regular SD, which is why compatible cards cost more.

    redpriestownMWinkElkBit

  • Yes. The Costco price is below Walmart's $98 listing and far under other major retailers listed at $130 to $182. Historical pricing also puts 512GB microSD Express cards around $65 to $80, so $89.99 is still a solid current deal.

    Eragornfalcon1ps2

  • Yes. The card can be bought ahead of time if you expect to fill a Switch 2 quickly, especially for digital game libraries. A 256GB Switch OLED can already be full, and the 512GB size gives more room for large downloads.

Do Sandisk MicroSD cards last longer now? Mine used to die within months, so I have switched to Samsung.

Don't hold your breath. Prices are projected to climb much higher next year, before finally beginning to drop in 2028 when the new NAND factories finally come online. I highly doubt we'll ever see prices that low again, all things considered, including inflation.

Chat told me to order with express shipping and then they would refund. Error with standard shipping - but confirm with chat before doing it.

Also works for switch 2?
No. Not the same product. Switch 2 only uses Express cards. 512gb Express cards haven't dropped below $50 yet.

Not sure why someone gave you a thumbs down for asking a question. Yes, this item works for Switch 2. Look at the description. If it doesn't say "Works with switch 2" then it doesn't. Needs certain read/write speeds that most regular SD cards don't have. So that's a big reason why the compatible ones are so expensive. I keep crossing my fingers and holding my breath that we'll get better deals in the future. 90+ gb for FFVII . . . . crazy.

I just chatted customer service and the shipping error is a known website issue. Currently their only directions are to tell customers to try again later 🫤

Maybe but guessing not. The number of people that need/want a micro sd that's 1TB is probably much less that it's not worth it for Costco to carry (my own opinion).
It's the other way around. Companies are hoarding high capacity NAND storage for AI. Seeing how they decimated the consumer market, manufacturing resources have shifted to B2B production and sales, as greater profits can be made by selling to data centers than to the subset of consumers. It wouldn't be that merchandisers aren't stocking them because they don't sell, it would be that manufacturing resources are going towards AI because that sells better.

I'm on hold with an awesome cs rep from costco, it seems like priority shipping will let it go through and they can credit that back

Oooo, nice! Update: I tried that route and got a hard no. I'll eat the $10 to ensure I don't miss out on it, but it's frustrating that the experiences aren't uniform.
