These Woot refurbished iPhones are landing in solid shape, with recent buys described as working fine and arriving better than expected, including one iPhone 14 that matched its 80 percent battery claim and another unit showing 98 percent battery health. The strongest value points are storage and newer hardware, especially 256 gigabytes, USB C on the iPhone 15 series, and the bigger battery and screen on Plus models. The main caution is software support, since older models can run into app and bank app compatibility limits as iOS requirements move up. The 30 day return window and a battery replacement can soften that risk.

  • A Woot iPhone 16 Plus purchase reportedly arrived in good condition and worked fine.

  • A Woot iPhone 14 reportedly arrived with the advertised 80% battery life and better-than-expected condition.

    mister2

  • Woot listings reportedly state battery life targets like 85% or more for iPhone 13 units.

    AnneR4868

  • USB-C on iPhone 15 series or newer reportedly helps avoid Lightning cables and supports longer iOS update runway.

    davin900

  • Some Woot iPhone units may arrive as non-mint condition, which can matter for buyers expecting pristine cosmetics.

    Hgtgnmister2

  • Bank apps may require specific iOS major versions, which can limit older iPhones from this refurb deal.

    cm1816

  • Battery health expectations can vary, since 79% battery health is described as Grade A rather than near-new.

    brandon311421

  • Software update longevity may be a tradeoff, since iPhone 13 is suggested for budget while iPhone 15 series is positioned for longer runway.

Banks apps require the latest security updates. Obviously you don't have a bank account

It's been years going back to the iPhone 8 that I purchased from Woot and it was in good condition, but not excellent condition. Anyone make a purchase this year on a Woot iPhone? Satisified? Battery health?
Apparently 79% battery health is considered grade A. Glad for the 30 day return window.

Just ordered the 13 yesterday as a back up. WOOT! says the battery life is 85% or more. Yes, glad for the return option.

Amazon renewed premium only sells mint used phones. We have purchased 2 this way. Both were in terrific shape. Did not check the battery on the other one, but the battery on mine showed 98%. For comparison the 16 pro is 650 here. And the amazon premium renewed is 820. Those with an amazon card that are interested in this route note that occasionally they offer 10% back on the card on certain models. That brought my 16 pro down to 740. at a difference of only $90 at that point, the premium phone becomes the better choice IMO.

I was looking at this woot! sale this weekend, with the thought of upgrading from my iPhone 13 Mini... But I think I'll stick with my Mini.

Any recommendations for a teenagers first phone? How old is too old? Obviously expecting higher chance of damage so it seems reasonable the first phone is older but would like to stay current on software.

15 series or newer gets you USB-C, which is huge to me. If I never have to use a Lightning cable again it will be too soon. And the 15 series is still receiving the latest iOS and will be for a while longer presumably. The Plus version for a few dollars more is a decent deal... better battery, bigger screen.
