I found this on Staples website, assuming it started to day 10/18 and will most likely run until 10/24. I'm not sure the limit as it wasn't posted in the usual weekly ad. I can confirm it is active in the Seattle area as of 10/18 AM, I purchased 7 cards, not sure what the limit is.

You can get that many in one transaction for sure. The typical limit lately is 9 in a transaction.

It's up to the store whether you can do more than one transaction. Many are paranoid about fraud and may limit you to one transaction per day of 9 max. There is no reason to split transactions up.

Just like with anything else, if you ring them up together then you're charged the total amount. I guess you can just get one at a time and keep getting back in line? Lol

They were just a newcomer, asking if the register limits you to one discounted card per purchase. The answer is no. Limit should be 9 per purchase. But I am 100% certain 5 would be no problem.
