I bought the non-aluminum version of this mower several months ago. I've had no issues with it or the batteries. I have 7.5amp, 6, and 4amp. I was disappointed to find out that 3 batteries isn't enough to mow continuously. Even with 2 batteries charging they couldn't keep up and I'd have to stop.
But longevity on the batteries seemed reasonable. Been mowing consistently most of that time.
My experience with the battery is bad. Works fine about 2-3weeks and can't hold 10-20mins after charge
Perhaps you got a bad one. If you registered your mower at time of purchase than the battery is definitely still under warranty. So, give Ego a call on Monday they will have you do a battery test and perhaps upload a video and send you out a new one if there is an issue. That is my experience.
I bought one similar with a 6ah battery self propelled, not touch drive. Runs great was able to cut a half acre, use self propel about half the time only on the slopes areas. Price was about 350 less too, was 2 years ago.
I bought this when it was 799.00 it will probably be that price again for black Friday also the battery went bad after about 3 months and customer service was a nightmare wanting pictures then video then trying many things to get it going again. After fighting with them for over two weeks Lowe's refunded me for the purchase

All I had to do is submit pictures of their barcode and receipt. Also attempt their troubleshooting. Then I got a new battery.
