What in the hell would cause a staph infection?
When I was at Ft. Huachuca, I got what I thought was a spider bite on my knee. Just showed up out of the blue. I left it alone for a few days, and it got a little better and then got worse. I asked one of my friends that's a paramedic to look at it, and he agreed that it looked like a spider bite, but to go into the medical clinic to make sure. Long story short, it wound up being a MRSA infection that I had to get lanced and drained. They put me on some pretty strong antibiotics, packed it, and I had to clean it and care for it, but it wasn't that bad overall (except for the lack of local anesthetic when the doctor decided to carve into my knee with a scalpel, but that's neither here nor there). They said that I was good to have come in when I did; a lot of people wait too long and it winds up becoming really dangerous.
If it were anywhere else, I'd ask for pictures.

Regardless of what I *think* it is I'm getting it checked. The skin is rubbing off on the top of the blister. Really a craptastical place for it!
I noticed it on Friday so I don't think over the weekend is too terribly long to wait. I'm most concerned about BFing my baby boy without knowing what it is. If it is staph they may have me stop nursing him.
i'm totally creeped out in this weird hair-raising coincidence sorta way, to the point that i'm going to go hide under my bed with a flashlight.
i don't have a spider bite, or a staph infection...but i noticed a tiny red bump in that same area on Friday after work. it happens occasionally when i sweat a lot, i think it's just the way this particular bra rubs down there, and just causes a small ingrown hair or something. /not a doctor
anyways, running away now.
