Facepalm

DW is driving 3 hours south to help her brother move today. He's got a crazy ass gf (aren't they all?) who he's been planning on leaving for a year. Decides last night at midnight was the you're because she got drunk and started messing up his stuff.

I told the wife she was not driving on 1 hour sleep so she left a bit ago.

I'm all for helping family but he's known shes bat crazy for years. Why the day before THANKSGIVING?

Iagree I haven't cooked a turkey in an oven...like...ever. Hide Mom has big, med & little roasters (I borrow the little one all the time) so I just did what she did and am so glad I do. Totally agree that it cooks in less time & is super juicy. As a matter of fact for the past 2 thanksgivings I've lent it to my SIL (we had turkey day with them) and this year she bought her own b/c she loves how it cooks the bird so much!

Happy Gobble Day everyone!
T- I am thankful for you because you make me glad my kids are older. Roll I'm kidding. You are such an awesome mom. You go to such lengths for your kids and you are patient and calm and wonderful. And you do it all while still being this ray of sunshine. I remember when you were getting NO SLEEP (not that you're getting oodles now) and if anyone had the excuse to have grumpy, snarky days, it would have been you, but nope...you were just this sweet lady. You are always a bright spot in a conversation, you have the FUNNIEST stories and Facebook statuses, and some wonderful advice. I think so much of you, and I'm glad I know you. I heart you to pieces.

heart back at ya!!!

Fake it 'til ya make it right? I am probably the most bat shit crazy person that you will ever know. Crazy laugh out loud

My husband's job is down to the wire so he's been working weekends and late nights for the past few weeks. I have not even done our grocery shopping for Thanksgiving (must be done at Whole Foods so that JJ can have turkey too). I am pretty sure they will not have any minimally processed fresh turkeys or even a farking leg for my boy to eat. My husband texts me and tells me he is working on Friday & wants to know how I feel about him working on Sat. I'm lucky if I get out of the house once a week and shower every 48 hours....oh and the boys have been sick all week. Suffice it to say I was NOT doing the happy dance when I received his text. Let's just say my phone's autocorrect was going nuts with all of the profanity that I was typing. Censored

That being said, I do realize that things could be much much worse. On Monday there was an horrible accident where a teen girl lost control of her vehicle and slammed her little VW beetle into a tree. A 16 yo passenger in the back seat was killed and the driver and passenger in the front seat are in the hospital in critical condition. My girl didn't know them personally (they attend a different school), but she did know of them and many of her friends at school were close with them. I told Mini that we never know what tomorrow may bring and that we just need to keep trying our best to make sound decisions and live a good life. I can not even imagine what these 3 families are going through right now. If you are the praying type, would you please add them to your prayer list? They need God now more than ever to envelop them in His loving grace. Nacks.

Robert got some wood from a friend's tree that he chopped down that he loves in his smoker. I forget what it was. It wasn't cherry, though. I'll have to ask him.

I had a friend tell me that plum was really good. He was supposed to get me some, but nothing yet. I like apple and/or hickory for pork. Don't really use mesquite.

Kroger had mesquite for $2/bag at the end of summer and he just wasn't happy with it. His friend from work had to cut down a tree at his property and Robert brought the wood home and stacked it and that's what he's been using. I'm pretty sure after thinking it over that it was hickory.

The dressing is mixed up, the base of the dessert is in the oven, the kids are fighting, I've taken a Fioricet, and I need a nap.

Son of a bitch I almost let the cat out of the bag. I wasn't thinking and told my middle kid if he didn't get me a Christmas list ASAP, all Santa was bringing him was pajama pants because I was going Christmas shopping this weekend. My little one was in the next room playing Xbox!! My oldest gets the Bigeye and says "Why does it matter to Santa when you're going Christmas shopping?"

Yeah, I'm a dumbass.
