Chunks are much better.
I'm not sure where you live; if there's an orchard by you that would be where to ask. Even if they don't cut down the trees they generally prune them once a year.

Now that you mention it, one of the kid's teachers has a family orchard, IIRC Scratchchin
There's another right by work, but it's pretty new and I don't know if the trees are even bearing apples yet.

I just looked at the grocery list. Facepalm Milk and bread were both on there twice. Which made sense for a moment because I did need two different types of bread but not two gallons of milk.

I never buy tubs so I hadn't thought of how you would measure it out for a recipe. It'd be messy like shortening for pie crusts I guess.

Sometimes they go on sale cheaper for some reason. Scoop it into a measuring cup, then scoop it back out.
