I've been freaking OBSESSED with this song since I caught the second half of The Thomas Crown Affair one night last week.

Sinnerman [youtube.com]

It plays when my alarm goes off now - gets me right the heck out of bed! Plus it's an awesome way to start the day. AND a really good song.
Thought you had been watching Point of No Return [wikipedia.org]

Well I have a plan to help drop this spare tire of mine and cut down on the 4 bux per gallon my truck uses...I'm going to ride to work a few days a week to mitigate the tire and fuel.

I traded an old Bridgestone road bike for a Bridgestone hybrid
It's the XO3 but in red (see the XO4 picture) and has these funky mustache style handle bars with dummy break grips for alternate hand positions on longer rides.
I just put new tires and tubes on it as it had the original 1993 tires on it still!!!
Also picked up a set of SPD style click in pedals. These match the click in pedals on the SPIN Bikes @ 24hour.

Gee Dave why are you now going to ride to work??

Well....I just finished my 3rd week at a new job woot and this place is only 15 miles from home vs. 25 AND it has SHOWERS!!!! so my co-workers not have to be offended at my accumulated stink of sweat after 15 miles of riding.

Friday I took a change of clothes to my "cube" as well as a shower kit...So I should be good to go assuming I don't get plowed into by some idiot on their way to work Monday.

Awesome on all counts! I've been biking to the gym (about a mile and a half, but if I go the long way I can stretch it to nearly 3 miles) and it feels great! Totally different muscles than running. It's weird. I got a heart rate monitor watch thing and it said yesterday that between Zumba and the bike I burned 1500 calories! Dance14 That's a nice motivation bump for me.

Yuck. Hope you have a great sale!

It's pack graduation for us tonight. I'll spend the day getting all of the awards organized and packaged up. Each boy gets a new book, neckerchief and slide, so that's just another thing I have to organize in addition to all the awards they've earned in the past month. We're up to 64 boys, and will get more in the fall at our next rally! Rock

No, this is just end of year advancements from Tiger to Wolf, Wolf to Bear and Bear to Webelos. I'm Advancement Chair, so this is my baby. The Troop does the Arrow of Light thing - I'm out of that game.

What, if anything, can you do at home? I've been toying with the idea of... acquiring... P90x or Insanity, and giving them a go. Their infomercials get me all hot & bothered
I don't know anything about programs like P90x, but I think you can do most anything at home with dumbbells and a chinning bar. I do most exercises with dumbbells anyway, in part because I figure that trains all the little support muscles and motor skills to keep everything steady and controlled.

I bought a couple of adjustable dumbbells to take on the road, but even when I'm too lazy to bring them, pretty much any hotel room includes a couple of chairs. Those often have more handholds anyway.

You mean drop bars? My favorite is a set of drop bars with clip-on aero bars. That gives me the biggest variety in hand and riding positions (that I would actually use).

Still in search of the ideal saddle, though. Seems like it ought to be out there *somewhere*, maybe just to the left of the holy grail.

I never thought I liked drop bars. Always stayed away from them, But now I'm really wishing I had them. I want to get some bar ends, I think that will help with my position.

And I have an idea for a periscope like pair of sunglasses. Because when I ride with my head down I can go a lot faster with less pain. The only problem is I ride like I'm drunk laugh out loud

The search for a perfect seat will always go on. Cool

On my road bike I finally switched them to a mountain bike straight bar with some L shaped bar ends so that I can have my wrists vertical or horizontal, but at a taller height with the bar ends.bulb

Nope, not drop bars or rams horn or what ever regional term for them ...these are more like what you see on the typical 3 speed bike of old....take a closer look at the pic in my previous post and look a bit harder at the handle bars...nothing really quite like them that I've seen before.

clip on aero bars would be cool...if I could have the new style shifter and brake levers up there.

My other bike is a Centurion Pro Tour 18 that has more gears then 18 thanks to a rear cog swap out.

It however has the shifter levers on the down tube and so I find my self reaching there on the Bridgestone, only to find that the shifters are on the handle bars...right were my hand WAS before I reached down to the imaginary shift levers laugh out loud

My headache....may be...the death...of me. *dramatic faint*

For the bike riders, you'd get a kick out of this. We (Well Patrick mostly) cleared a big long path on our property for us to ride bikes and stuff. It's really super cool, cause once you get past the tree line you can't really see the house anymore so it seems like you're biking in a park or something. And then super cool cause it's like "And it's all ours! Muahahaha." And then we run into a spider web or something and that takes care of that joy, lol.

Christian's Kindle wouldn't connect to the wifi. Patrick tried to get it to connect and was working at it awhile and it wouldn't work. I had it for five minutes and I got it working. Patrick's the big super smart computer guy (he really is too, he's pretty impressive) so when I was able to get it to connect and he couldn't...this was my face..
