If this is a 2024 Motorola phone, keep in mind that end of life software and security support is May 2027 for this phone.

The 2024 Moto G Stylus 5G stands out as a budget unlocked phone with solid specs, a stylus, a headphone jack, and FM radio. The price drops to $132.61 after opening seller options, and the phone has been used happily for over a year. The main tradeoffs are short software support, with one major Android upgrade and security updates ending around May 2027, plus reports of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 running hot. Compatibility and seller issues also surfaced, including a locked or wrong storage unit and Verizon activation problems, so it is a value pick with some caution.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes. The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) is supported for one major Android OS upgrade and three years of security updates, with end of life expected around May 2027. That makes it a better fit if you plan to use it for a few years rather than keep it long term.

  • The $132.61 price appears after clicking "see more seller options"; the $133 shown on the main listing is not the final price. Check the seller options before buying so you see the lower offer.

    ggps8k

  • Unlocked status does not guarantee Verizon compatibility. The phone can fail Verizon's IMEI checker and may need activation on T-Mobile even if a Verizon SIM seems to work.

    Char3lee

  • Yes. The phone includes a headphone jack and FM radio, which are useful extras for wired audio and local radio listening.

    JFalc

  • It can. One purchase from VIP Outlet arrived as a UScellular-locked 128GB unit instead of the ordered 256GB unlocked model, and it was returned after unlocking issues.

I don't see an Add to cart button for this item. There is such a button and $133 price just below the item, but it is for a different phone (6.5", 4GB RAM).

You need to click "see more seller options" to see the price $132.61, NOT $133

I purchased the same phone from Vipoutlet via Walmart for $89.99 last month. Arrived in pristine condition.

2 or 3 years. The phone will hit it's end of life in about 3 years. Versus $900 phone that lasts few more years. Use it for a few years and get another. Nbd. More value than expensive new phone with longer updates

Dude. It's not the same. That one is only 128GB & you need 120 days of service before it's unlocked

The Moto G (any year) is a far inferior phone to the Stylus line

cheaper and newer models can be had.

Avoid this one, it has the snapdragon 6 gen 1 CPU, notorious for running too hot and downclocking as a result.

As a warning to those looking into it, I bought this a few weeks ago from VIP Outlet and received a UScellular locked version that also had 128GB of storage when the device I ordered was supposed to be 256GB.

Following some guides online I got abd access on an internet-less factory reset and ran a bunch of commands to neuter the usCellular lock, and with that it was able to unlock, but upon usCellular unlock I lost adb and developer access. I could never fully unlock the phone and returned it. Too big a headache.

For the price, solid specs and feel though.
