Costco's 14.2 inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip, 16GB memory, and 1TB storage is drawing attention as a strong value for everyday productivity, especially with the Pro screen, ports, and free shipping at $1,349.99. The 1TB storage and Costco's 90 day return window add appeal, and the deal is also honored in warehouse with a simple pickup flow. The main concern is RAM headroom, since 16GB can feel tight for heavy multitasking, Teams, development, or local AI work. It looks best for general use and lighter creative or coding tasks.

  • Shoppers who want to buy now and keep flexibility, because Costco's 90-day return window makes it easy to wait for a better Black Friday price.

    freshsqueezedT3QN1KT3QN1K

  • Office workers and light creators who want a fast laptop with lots of storage, because 16GB handles web, documents, light Python, and sub-1080p editing well.

    Capetonovasian

  • Developers who need a better screen and extra ports, because the Pro chassis helps when working away from a dock and avoids fanless throttling under heavier builds.

    CC1478Capeto

  • Buyers replacing an older MacBook who want a clear upgrade, because 24GB here is a meaningful step up from M1 and the 1TB SSD adds room for files and apps.

    fintlewoodlewixCapeto

  • Buyers who want maximum future-proofing, because 16GB may feel lean as RAM demands rise and some prefer waiting for 24GB or 32GB.

    a_landFrshh23intence01

  • Heavy multitaskers running lots of browser tabs plus chat apps, because 16GB can start disk swapping under that load.

    fintlewoodlewix

  • Mobile app developers juggling Xcode, simulators, Android Studio, and AI tools, because that workload can feel laggy or choppy on this memory tier.

    Aletheia_

  • People who want headroom for local AI or large models, because 16GB is not enough for serious local LLM work.

I had the same, but ultimately was able to place the order with the ship to and pickup from store option. I also changed the credit card I was using, but my money is on the pickup option.
Cancellation email from costco just came through.

I had the M1/8GB RAM macbook air 13 and it handled my productivity tasks just fine. 16GB is enough for 90% of the population with normal use, unless you have 100+ tabs open with VM's running, etc.

For 1350 it's absolutely fine. For a good local llm you need atleast 128gb. Get this for 1350 and get Claude or gpt subscription for 20/month. Rather than buying 32gb for 2-3k.
or Copilot free with your 365 subscriptions, to a certain extent.

Deal works in the warehouse too. Was able to check for stock in the app, go to the Apple booth and get a ticket, pay at the register and get it at Merchandise Pickup 🙌
