This Costco MacBook Pro deal pairs the 14.2 inch M5 model with 16GB memory and 1TB storage at $1,349.99, with free shipping, a two per member limit, and Costco's 90 day computer return window plus a second year of warranty. The price undercuts Apple's $1,999 tag and sits below the newly launched M6 version, making it especially attractive for buyers who want Pro ports and the better screen. The main hesitation is 16GB RAM, which feels tight for heavy multitasking, Teams, local AI, or development work. It is a strong value for everyday use and storage hungry buyers.

Costco has the 14" MacBook Pro with the M5 chip, 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD (MDE14LL/A, item #1945139) for $1,349.99. Apple charges $1,999. It's on costco.com with free shipping, and most warehouses have it at the same price, though stock varies. The limit is 2 per member. You get Costco's 90-day return window on computers and a second year of warranty. The new M6 version just launched at $1,999, so this looks like a clearance price.

It all depends on a user's individual needs, 16GB is more than enough for over 98% of users since the integrated unified memory architecture is built directly onto the processor. This is a great deal, especially with the 1TB hard drive. The MacBook Air that keeps getting posted has only a 512 GB SSD.

For 1350 it's absolutely fine. For a good local llm you need atleast 128gb. Get this for 1350 and get Claude or gpt subscription for 20/month. Rather than buying 32gb for 2-3k.
