Costco's 14.2 inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip, 16GB memory, and 1TB storage is drawing attention as a strong value for everyday productivity, especially with the Pro screen, ports, and free shipping at $1,349.99. The 1TB storage and Costco's 90 day return window add appeal, and the deal is also honored in warehouse with a simple pickup flow. The main concern is RAM headroom, since 16GB can feel tight for heavy multitasking, Teams, development, or local AI work. It looks best for general use and lighter creative or coding tasks.

Common Questions (5)

  • For office work, web browsing, light Python, photo editing, and light video editing, 16GB is enough and can last several years. It can feel tight with heavy multitasking, lots of browser tabs, Teams, or development workloads like Xcode, Android Studio, and local AI tools, where 24GB or more is preferable.

  • Costco's 90-day return window reduces the risk of buying now, since you can return it if a better Black Friday deal appears. The deal is also being treated as a clearance price with the newer M6 model now out at a higher price.

  • Yes. It can be bought in the warehouse at the same price, with stock varying by location. The in-store flow is to check stock in the app, get a ticket at the Apple booth, pay at the register, and pick it up at Merchandise Pickup.

    ItechnofreakifyTheDoDeals

  • Yes, the order can be canceled shortly after placement. One reported cancellation happened about 20 minutes after ordering, so it is worth checking order status after purchase.

    Capeto

  • Yes, a Best Buy online price match brought it down to $1,379, with the difference expected to be refunded later. That gives another route if Costco checkout fails or if you want to buy through Best Buy instead.

I had the same, but ultimately was able to place the order with the ship to and pickup from store option. I also changed the credit card I was using, but my money is on the pickup option.
Cancellation email from costco just came through.

I had the M1/8GB RAM macbook air 13 and it handled my productivity tasks just fine. 16GB is enough for 90% of the population with normal use, unless you have 100+ tabs open with VM's running, etc.

For 1350 it's absolutely fine. For a good local llm you need atleast 128gb. Get this for 1350 and get Claude or gpt subscription for 20/month. Rather than buying 32gb for 2-3k.
or Copilot free with your 365 subscriptions, to a certain extent.

Deal works in the warehouse too. Was able to check for stock in the app, go to the Apple booth and get a ticket, pay at the register and get it at Merchandise Pickup 🙌
