Nothing really happened on the first episode.

I was shocked when I looked at the clock and realized the hour was almost up and thought this is it?

IT was a "we're back" episode. Remember us? Here we are again. We'll let you look at our faces for an hour and let everything settle in before proceeding with the plot next week.

And yeah the show gave away that the short order cook was going to be killed when the "enforcer" dude ripped him for letting people see him at the seen of Gale's murder. So I saw that coming from a mile away.

I hate to say it, but "Thirty-Eight Snub" felt like a filler episode. Not a whole lot happened.

Do you think Hank is trying to figure out something about the blue crystal meth with his obsession with the rocks...err minerals. Smilie

Maybe. Doesn't anyone think Mike already killed Gus?

Nope, that was Mike. I think Mike's sitting in the bar drinking earlier in the episode indicated his thinking about seriously changing (or already having changed) the situation for everyone involved. When he told Walt "you'll never see him again" it could be interpreted two different ways: (a) Mike is keeping them apart to prevent further issues, or (b) Mike has eliminated Gus and taken the business for himself. (b) seems to be confirmed when Mike tells Walt "you need to learn to take yes for an answer", then beats the crap outta him when Walt dares to continue. The beating was a serious wake-up call Walt needed, IMHO.

I thought that was Gus that called him. Hmmm interesting. I thought when Mike beat him up, it was because Walter was like biting the hand that feeds him sort of thing.

Gus was in the teaser for the next episode so there goes that theory since I'm pretty sure it wasn't a flashback.

Yup. Last night the wife asked me what it was Marie did for a living, and I said she's a klepto. Wife wanted to figure out something much more complicated, and I said exactly what ASG just did.

I believe she is a nurse, or at least she used to be. She is a klepto and I think she might have been doing it to also get Hank's attention.

I thought that too, until I saw him in the previews.

She was a klepto in the first season, and I figured she was going back to it because they needed the money with all those bills piling up. I loved watching her make up stories and talk to the realtors. laugh out loud

This week's episode was greatness. I had to watch the scenes in Mexico twice. I like how Gus is turning Jesse by making him more and more relevant. Gus is being revealed as very wise... his patience, his sophisticated alibi as to why he was at Gale's apartment, his knowledge of people and how they can be manipulated... or best used.

Whereas Walt is reactive, Gus is proactive. Gus plans ahead, knows that he can use Jesse if he has the right kind of instincts... so he arranges for the fake stick up situation, and allows Jesse to not only 'be a hero', but also prove his instincts are fit for a life of crime. These instincts were on display in Mexico when he took control of the situation in the meth lab. Gus also knows that Jesse can cook Walt's formula... but will he try to turn Jesse against Walt? Or is Walt taking care of that for Gus?
