On Tuesday I developed a blister. It burst but is still an open wound. I think this was the opportunity for the infection to develop while snorkeling in Grand Cayman and Cozumel (or even from the ship). I also got two additional blisters on the same toe. Like an idiot I did not get them treated so they got worse.
Still in the hospital. Have had several rounds of antibiotics, 3 doses of anti-seizure meds, an MRI of the toe, an EEG, an EKG, a CT, and an ultrasound of the blood vessels in the neck.
The neurologist just left. He does not feel like I have a seizure disorder. He feels like it was a combination of my unfortunate visceral reaction to needles plus the stress of being in the ER and the infection.
