yep im going to do it people, 12 hour drive leaving at 7:30pm and arriving thursday morning. i did it once before but in the day, only stopped 2 times to drain the lizard. i know i have the willpower to drive through the nite without falling asleep at the wheel. god i love vacations. this will be 2 of 3 this year.

has anyone here topped a 12 hour drive in 1 shot????

Most of these sound reasonable do-able. The only one I doubt a little is an account of 32 hours of driving, if that was done straight. On the other hand, enough Red Bull and loud music can work wonders.
32 hours between 2 people bulb

In college, for Spring Break, Ames, IA to South Padre, Tx. That's 1350 miles, roughly 22 hours straight, stopping only for gas and food. I drove the whole way there, we split on the way back. That was also back when you could have open containers in the vehicle. Everyone was doing shots and we were passing shots between cars.

tampa to baltimore in a huge box truck

with a 3 hour stop on the side of the road at 3 am in NC (flat tire, we had a spare but no jack big enough for the box truck, and of course the first tow truck was too small)

I did Denver to kalamazoo, MI straight through and Kalamazoo to an hour EAST of orlando also straight twice both of which are around 20 hours or so. One of the orlando trips I had 2 kids in the car also...

Longest without a stop would be Kalamazoo to mall of america which was 550 miles I think I had to refill the gas tank at 556 which left me a little short of the destination. That was in an 07 civic hybrid all on a single tank getting over 50MPG I think it was around 55MPG

I drove from Port St Lucie, FL, to Kansas City, MO, to Chicago in a U-Haul all with just pit stops in between and no sleep. It took about 30 hours total. Thank goodness for Red Bull and

No. My ex and I shared a moving truck so he was driving behind in his car while I drove the truck. Dumped his crap in KC then took off for Chicago.

first they need WAY stricter requirements for passing a driving test and tightly enforced things like no left lane camping, car maintenance requirements and tons of other things that would piss people off.

A german driving test would be failed by 75% of americans and too many douchebags simply don't follow basic road laws such as left lane camping, changing lanes without signaling
