GT, that is so funny about how she swam this time & kept bringing your floater back laugh out loud I keep seeing you casting it & yelling noooooooo! And she brings it back to you.

I wish we could eat fish more often. I love salmon and tilapia. I haven't tried many others but I would love too. I wish it wasn't so expensive.

I stopped at a little farm stand and bought corn and apples. The corn was so sweet and yummy. The apples were way to tart! She swore they were SWEETER than granny smith which I really like. No way! They were more tart and not sweet! I need a good baked Apple sweet something recipie. I don't bake usually so I don't even have white sugar in the house. I got a free sample of king aurthor flour, I hope it is still good. I don't want to buy stuff, trying to minimize every penny going out.

I got all the spider mites of my herbs and mini roses. Someone posted the yellow citrus Windex works or just spraying them off for few weeks. Easier if the plants are outside, I have to cart them over to the sink, it is pretty messy.

I don't like fish. Love TO fish, but won't eat it. But my husband's fish tends to be kind of expensive... a week at a cabin in MN., motor rental, gas for the car and boat, bait...

How about a good old apple pie? You do need sugar but you will need sugar for any kind of dessert. Otherwise, you probably have everything you need. Crust just needs flour, egg, and I use butter, some use shortening or lard. Pie filling you just need sugar and cinnamon. I use a little nutmeg sometimes but hate cloves so I never use that.

Do you have a lot of apples you need to use up or just a few? If you have a lot -- as in a bushel or two, you can make pie filling or even whole pies and freeze them.

We had apples trees. I used to make whole pies, double bag them and freeze. When we wanted one, I went straight from freezer to oven and bake it at 200 - 250 for 3 or 4 hours. Oh, were those some good pies.

Apple pie sounds so good. yummy. I have frozen peach pies and cobblers too. So nice to have in the winter ready to pull out of the freezer and bake.

I have never made a homemade apple pie or cobblerEmbarrassment I want to start baking more things from scratch, but I have always been the kind who buys a frozen pie and cooks it.
Well, in my defense, DH isn't a big sweet eater, and I don't need it, so I don't make things like that often. My DH only likes a few kinds of deserts.. and they are your simple kid kind of stuff.. rice krispy treats, lemon icebox pie, etc..

Happy Friday morning woot I am glad it is Friday, but sad that I am working this evening.. But, trying to look on the positive note.. each shift worked brings me closer to my beach vacation!

Sipping on cup #2 from the Keurig.. Been up for 2 hours or so.. already dropped the older kids off at music class, picked up the trash that the neighbors cats got into and drug all over our front yardMad , and started a load of laundry.. need to get a few more things done before work this afternoon..

I am really hoping to get a yard sale together for next weekend.. My garage is just busting at the seems with stockpile stuff that I need to get rid of.. Even if I don't sell it all, I need to move some of it!

And, I got some great news yesterday.. My 14 year old DS has been on seizure medication for 9 years.. He started having them when he was 5 and they never figured out why. They always told us that the hope was he would outgrow them.. he hasn't had any in over 8 years now, but everytime they test his EEG, it is always abnormal, so we have kept him on meds.. We test every 2 years, but the nuerologist decided he wanted to test this year because he said it is important to try to get them off meds and see how they do before they start to drive.. He actually told us that even if it was abnormal, we could decide if we wanted to try it anyway. I have been really praying about it and didn't want to be put in the position of trying to decide what to do..
Anyway, they called me last night and told me for the first time ever, his test was totally normal woot Whee so, we have started the weaning process with his meds.. I was so excited that I teared up right there at dinner with DH last night Smilie

sounds like you got a good workout gt! Teehee i know some gamefish are not good eating fish so catch and release is a-ok.

and why *were* those some good pies? apple season is starting and they can be good pies again. at least a few for the holidays. i still remember my mom making apple pies and lemon meringue pies. i'm sure your kids do too.

i can't eat apples from the supermarket so almost every yr i go apple picking a few times. we also do it for my mil's bday in oct. it's an activity all 3 generations enjoy doing together which is difficult to find. my mil even climbs into the trees, even though you aren't supposed to. this yr i will try organic apples and see if my digestive system will tolerate them. i just eat the apples. i never make anything w/ them.

forgot to mention they changed the formulation of sunlight dishwashing liquid for sensitive skin. it's more watery and i'm getting the itchy rash on the back of my hands when i was some dishes. now i have to find another dishwashing liquid w/o that preservative, sigh!

laugh out loud nod Yeah, I had been warned. I am gonna be known as the witchy lady who had to call the itty bitty phone company a million times complaining already.......oh well, it will keep nosy neighbors away I suppose Roll

I looked your little town up. It's a regular metropolis! My town is about 550 - 600. BOOM! Are ya gettin' twitchy yet?

Yeah, the phone makes sense to me. I did a product test for one, two actually. I would never have considered going all cellular until recently. First, up here the cell plans suck and reception was bad until a new tower went up last year. But now there is the unlimited Straight Talk for $45/month. Second, cell phones go dead. A lot. But I have two sets of those now --- you talk on a house phone - with multiple handsets -- but you are using the cell phone plan. No home line required. .....
laugh out loud You crack me up. It is a nice little size here Smilie Wink

Phone [amazon.com]

I'd forgotten that you can use it w/o the landline too....in other words it doesn't become obsolete if we don't have a landline at some point. I would rather spend a little more on something we'll use. It arrives today. Reviews to follow laugh out loud

Morning.

Surgery went without further incident. They will be discharged today. Downside, they found blood behind the retina in the center. He probably will not regain vision in the center of his left eye. Right eye, they will operate in 3-4 weeks, but that one is worse than the left eye. Keep praying for our miracle!

DS16 came home from football practice the other night. He was wearing his knee brace, but went for a tackle and came down hard on it. Swelled right up, and he can't bend it back very far. Has been icing it, but the trainer called him a wimp. Yes, this is the woman who told him he bruised something, when he actually severed his ACL and tore his meniscus. Granted, she doesn't have xray vision, but she is an adult. Now the rest of the team is treating him terribly, and he is bummed. I need a massive roll of bubble wrap for that boy. Oh, he got his driver's license last week. I need to stock up on hair color. Too many grays coming out!
