I saw a pic on the news that Hershey was flooded. Where there any signs of the aftermath of flooding from a few weeks ago?
It was flooded the previous weekend, and there were signs up all over the park about areas being closed due to damage. Musical acts were performing in other theaters because one stage was too damaged to be able to use now. I don't think there were any rides shut down but we did get dripping water from some roller coaster cars. laugh out loud

Weeping Took my weekly trip to see if my pool was clearanced yet. It's not. Weeping

A bear was spotted in town about a half a mile from my house. It was hit by a car but got away. So now I need to keep an eye out for an injured bear. I think it is bear hunting season, so the bear must have gotten scared or something, that it walked over an over pass to get into town.

This weekend is Octoberfest where they shut down main street and have 100+ food vendors line the road. There is five free music stages and they play music all day. It's a good time and I can't wait to go!

That ought to lure him in. Figures, the one time I am going to MN fishing when the bears are actually out and about in abundance, I don't think I am going far enough north. I just want to see a bear out and about doing bear stuff.

Now, my niece is going camping this weekend in the mountains in North Carolina and they are hoping they don't see a bear out and about doing bear stuff. Last year they were getting too close, they had to pack up and leave. But they did get to spend one day where they could watch them in the distance. Of course the flip side to that is that you HAVE to watch them to make sure they aren't headed over to visit.

Morning.. just finished a second cup of coffee.. Loving my new Keurig machine DH got me for my birthday! Been a lazy kinda day so far.. Heading to work in a few hours.. Need to get myself in gear tomorrow and clean my house. Things are in such a mess since we came back from the beach and I have no groceries... Well, I have a stockpile of snacks and canned goods, but need some real food!

Haven't been to target all week.. Just seems like nothing is exciting this week for me!

Also, need to get back on my diet. Got derailed with my birthday celebration and then the beach trip.. but, time to get back on the wagonEmbarrassment

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Teehee

today must be wild animal day. dh set up a havahart trap yesterday w/ peanut butter and just b4 5pm today he saw the ground hog inside. unfortunately for the ground hog, animal control only picks up the phone till 4.30pm so it's going to be inside the cage outside until tomorrow. now dh is sad. he said the ground hog seems to be scared too.

give it some food and water, and it will be calmer.

or take it in the car and release it somewhere far away.

it likely is scared in the trap. and likely hungry and thirsty. poor thing.

we keep building our suburbs and subdivisions in wildlife territory and then we wonder why they are interloping on our territory. poor animals.

i don't want to give it food and water and teach it to not fear humans or be attracted to human food. the instructions said to cover the cage to calm the animal, so dh put a plastic bag just over the top of the cage, but of course he left the long side uncovered (sigh!) so it can breathe. so it can see out perfectly well and it will just get less rained on if it happens to rain tonite. right now it's shaking the cage trying to get out. i hope not or else we will have to go thru this all over again.

animal control should come in the morning and release it in a designated area far away from people. one time i saw a big box turtle trying to climb up the curb after 4pm on a friday and they came right over and said they would release it in a good place for it in the town.

they laughed at me and said we do not advise medicating yourself with alcohol. it has so many consequences, you can become dependent, put on weight, heart disease, liver disease, blah, blah, blah.
I'm with the others-the effects of a glass of wine are much less scary than the side effects of medication. Drink up sweets!! Beer

i concur. one or 2 glasses of wine can have health benefits, you just have to be careful not to drink more than that. just need to stay away from the high calorie cocktails and other mixed drinks, liquors and beer. i don't think those can ever qualify as medicating yourself. shake head
