I think that they are new to couponing in general, or from what I've garnered from the Target thread, Kmart, etc. I think you need to speak your mind. Tell them it's not right to use catalinas on things they aren't for, etc.
do what you want, but must you speculate about doing something you know you are not supposed to be doing in public? can't you just keep it on the down-low? i just don't want to constantly read your speculations about whether you can miss-use a cat every wk. the person even replies to their own posts b/c nobody will answer them.
i'd just leave it be.
or put her on ignore so you don't see her posts.
her posts don't bother me. frankly, i find it interesting to see what people try to do and how registers react. it's like a science experiment. that chain's registers are so hit and miss, that most people can't even replicate a legit deal without variations, let alone misuse.
i just take the stuff with a grain of salt and keep going down a zen pathway, because i know misuse doesn't happen easily at that chain.

nahhhh, isn't.
totally different thread. it's a regional thread in which ST participates.
1. If you're in the market to buy tires, NTB has a BOGO deal going on right now, valid on most major big name brand tires, via this coupon: http://www.ntb.com/Discounts-Coup...hwodwCUO-A
Buy one get one, or with the same coupon, buy 2 get 2 free!
2. Sears has a massive sale going on things for the kitchen/home. One great find: a 3 piece set of cast iron pans is 17.99! that's a serious steal. Plus they have a 5/50 coupon SEARS2011
there are lots of other things on sale - toasters, coffeemakers, pots and pans, blah, blah.
but even if one were to get this pan set by itself, ship to store, so free shipping, it's totally a steal, seeing that you'll pay about this much for 1 cast iron pan in most places!

shoprite thread is having a problem w/ that right now b/c people who shop at acme use the term psp = pre-sale price/shelf price to get cats. it doesn't work at shoprite b/c there is reg price, sale price and then loyalty card price (price plus price), but you don't need the loyalty card to get the catalina mkting cats. at shoprite the sale price, not pre-sale price, is usually, but not always, the price to get the cats. so there is a spread between the price to get the cats and the loyalty card price minus mq's. after cat, price plus card and mq's, some things end up free or mm so lotsa eager beavers trying to get in on the cat deals. oh yeah, another confusing bit. no limit on mq cats per transaction but only one like store oyno per transaction. but some stores will allow. the cashier supervisor has to come w/ the key to override. i just told sd newby about that today. oh yeah, another bit of confusion. coupons double up to .99, but not all locations and not if an eagle-eyed cashier spots your dnd-5. and for some reason a few q's don't double when they should. anyway, shoprite is difficult, so we are usually a very patient and nice thread. and we have some real q sticklers which is ok b/c we get a lot of newbies. we got a lot of hcw people when the mod over there got a full-time job so the thread is self-regulating. a few wks ago we got a mod in for like the first time in yrs when a convo got heated.
so the newbies and those w/ no memory retention get confused when somebody who also shops at acme says *psp*. just wrong terminology to use when they look at the shelf tag and it's the sale price they should be using to get the cat. so there is always somebody who calculated on the reg price not sale price, buy more than 4 of the same thing and not getting the price plus card price on the 5th and 6th items b/c it's 4 per variety, yada, yada, yada. i understand it's very confusing to noobs.
it's kinda like gc deals at target, but if target had a loyalty card there would also be another cheaper sale price for card holders (target uses tq's instead). and there is usually a limit of 4 per variety but not always, and not always 4.
so anyway, sd newby really is a noob. she's ok for now.
i'd just leave it be.

tn- for your entertainment, which we all love, here are about half her posts from the past wk, the first where she replies to herself, which she does frequently, and they all infer shenanigans.

i looked back at my reps and it was you gg who told me how most others feel about her inc yourself.
i looked back at my reps and it was you gg who told me how most others feel about her inc yourself.
and yes that is true. when there were allegedly/seemingly rude comments made, people didn't like it, and neither did i.
but i haven't seen any seeming rudeness in months. so, that's that.
the rest of the stuff, it doesn't bother me one way or the other.
i've shopped that chain for years. and used sco's. and always found it very hard to even use qs legitimately cos of the register idiosyncracies, so in my humble opinion at least, it wouldn't matter much what people's theories are on the cats.
9 times out of 10 at that store, cats don't work at registers and have to be taken to the CS desk. at least that has been my experience. i even wrote to corporate about it several times.
ahh well, we all have our own way of looking at things. and we all have different things that irk us. i tend to be pretty easygoing about things people say on threads, unless they're repeatedly being rude/talking down to folks.
for example, there's a person who has done that on several SD threads and has come to be known for that (doesn't frequent the thread you are talking about), and finally the other day I gave a little bit of a talk-back response because I felt such constant rudeness from one person was unnecessary. but by and large, I tend not to get irked. i just see it as an internet chat board. people will be who they are and say what they want, ya know? just not worth my investing any emotional energy into it.

i thought your new house was almost completely built?
i'm getting mighty confused with all these new houses and houses in progress. can someone give me a new house please so I can co-celebrate while being confused?
good morning creatures.
it is cold, freezing rain and gray.
have the house all to myself. the tribe's all away on a trip. ahhh, yummy silence.
i have tons of ickly insurance paperwork to do today to get reimbursed for medical and transportation to medical appt bills. good times.
and i have serious hormonal sweet cravings: organic sour gummies to be exact.
plus i am desperately craving soft tacos with shredded chicken in a spicy green tomatillo mole sauce.
ahhh, the joys of being a woman.
so there you have it: my day in a nutshell.
Morning. Supposed to be
Morning. Supposed to be
and we're supposed to get snow tonight.
plus snow for Halloween. snow! in October! whatever happened to Fall Foliage? got none this year.
grey and rainy here.
tn- wha'd you do? you don't want to read SR thread. we are so boring unless you have one. their pos system is one of the better ones and they are fairly strict but deals can be complicated so posts are very technical sometimes. kinda like reading wags. your eyes will glaze over and you will fall into a stupor.
thrifteh- if you delete your post, i'll edit mine. next time pls pm me. 'nuff said.
i've been feeling so lazy. today is the last day to go get 25.00 store gc's and get a 5.00cat from SNS. i should get some gas cards at least, lowes and amazon and i'm just not feelin' it. i shop very little at SNS and having to go back to find stuff to buy w/ the cat is a turn-off. i stopped doing cvs b/c rolling the ecbs or finding stuff to buy was too stressful and no good deals anymore. don't want to get stuck w/ 5.00 cats and be wandering around the store looking for something to buy. hate that.

ST, don't know how friendly your SNS is, but at mine when they have cats like that, i can buy whatever i want and then just walk over to CS with the rcpts and cats and they give me cash back.
i know what you mean about the pressure to use the cats. last year when i did lots of cat deals at SNS and another regional chain, i then ended up just walking to the natural/organic section and buying stock up things for the pantry. and i would also add some perishable things we might need: tofu, eggs, milk, yogurt, butter, OJ (stuff that's boxed and refrigerated, so not like produce where the quality varies - i remember you saying that the produce is terrible at your SNS).
the stock-ups have been invaluable for us. i still have things from last year, unexpired. and we've been using them constantly since I haven't been able to grocery shop much this year. it's been a lifesaver.
if you want ideas for boxed/organic things that are good at SNS, just holler. they usually have good options for sales on organic/natural cereals and they all come with peelies generally; muir glen sauces; a bunch of their own nature's place line things; their own house brand organic raisins (comes in a tin-shaped thick paper container/jar/canister with a plastic lid) are excellent and a great value. ditto on their organic oatmeals.
oooh, i also bought things like raw honey, spices, teas, different kinds of rice... things that wouldn't go bad quickly and that I know we use a lot of.
all that being said, i find the buying one card at a time business so cumbersome. i know i personally wouldn't have felt comfortable doing 4-5-6 back to backs at my store, and that means going from store to store. what a pain!
eta: one more idea - pasteurized egg whites. i buy the organic kind and i find that they have long expiration dates and stay unspoiled in their sealed state in the back of the fridge for a looooooooong time. they're great for scrambles and omelets and fried rice and even baking.
