Have your kids ever Trick or Treated (or Trunk or Treat) in the snow before?
We actually don't really do the whole trick or treat thing. Hide Not big on Halloween, etc. So thankfully that won't be an issue. Also, thankfully, everything should melt on Sunday, because its supposed to be, well, gorgeous. look around Why can't it be gorgeous tomorrow, and yucky Sunday?

Oh, you and me both! I am in a semi-depressed state, because my sister and I were supposed to do an awesome church sale tomorrow, but since its outdoors, its been rescheduled. For next week, when our church is doing a couples' conference and so we can't do it. grrrrr...

But I will take my punches and roll with 'em. Wink Trying to talk myself into believing that it will be awesome to be all together in the house tomorrow, hunkering down, watching movies, drinking coffee, etc. I'll let you know how successful I am with that.

hug sorry about the sale Flugette!

We don't really do the Halloween thing either, so I would be totally happy for some snow this weekend and be able to stay in and watch TV.. besides, if it snowed, it would keep all those kids from ringing my doorbell maybe Teehee

Since we don't get snow often, we always look forward to it..

My sister lives in Wyoming and they had a big snow storm this week. SHe was here visiting me and it was 70's, but her DH called and said it was 1 degree at home Faint I think they have had 2 or maybe 3 snow storms already EEK!

wha? you don't do trick or treating? awww, your poor kiddos are deprived! bad mommies! Teehee

i admit, i never went trick or treating as a kid b/c i grew up in the big bad city but i don't think you guys can use that excuse.

now that i live in suburbia, i pass out candy when we are home and i used to leave a bag or bowl out when we happened to not be. i also do some minor decorating. i have some window silhouettes i got 75% off at cvs i hang every yr. i want to get 2 more sets this yr for the upstairs windows. i've also accompanied bff taking her kids trick-or-treating 2-3 times. it's exercise for us. i was supposed to go w/ her this yr but dh got tickets to a taping of conan. also decided to rebook the wtc memorial since we are going to the city. we canceled last time b/c of bad weather.

this yr our township is going to have a *spooktacular* on sunday at the rec center and businesses were invited to come give away stuff and hold raffles. supposedly they have some big prizes. bff invited me to go w/ her. prior yrs they did trunk trick or treating in the parking lot. this event may have something to do w/ the curfew for those under 18 that was instituted this yr.

gg- i went to whole foods today and picked up 4 imagine broths for 1.50ea. i used the 1.00/2ip plus the 1.00wfq. the 1.00ip only says soup and while i know i probably could have used it for broth, i decided to buy the soups anyway. the soups were on sale for 3.19, so 1.19ea after q's which i thought was an excellent price to try them out. and then i used my living social voucher.Cool so oop was .75 for the broths and .60 for the soups.Big Grin

i have some pacific ip's, i think expiring 10/30 so i will try to pop into sns this wknd and see if i can get some good deals.

PM'ng you, babe Wink in just a moment... Blowkiss

KAY, i still owe you a note on turkey. sorry hon, i saw recipes the other day and suddenly remembered ooooh, i'd promised her this. this weekend, i promise. i promise. and cornbread for TM4D (good thing she's in manhattan). laugh out loud

in the meanwhile, for those of you that have started thinking about thanksgiving, check out the November issue of Cooking Light Magazine. they really have lots of great recipes for thanksgiving favorites - just lighter versions. LOTS of them! i find it's a collector's issue - that good.
go leaf through it in a store and if you find you just want one or two, i can scan it in or copy it in or something... i have the issue at home!

i got a free trial issue of the mag, and i like it so much i really feel like subscribing. good thing: they have tons of recipes for free on their website. really good ones!

hey guys, i really don't want to get into medical details much, but I wanted to say this:

I'm now looking at indefinite months of pain and limited mobility, and possibly a permanent lifetime thing.
That makes me want to say one thing to everyone I know:

Is it really worth texting, talking on the phone, changing the radio, talking to the kids in the back, checking an email, fixing your makeup, applying lipstick, changing the GPS (add your driving distraction of choice here), if the trade off is that for that one moment of whatever you do, you may end up spending the rest of your life incapacitated, and in constant pain?

Ask yourselves that every single time you're behind the wheel. And focus. And beseech, implore, bully every one of your loved ones and friends into doing the same.

Take my word for it. The trade-off is not worth it. And if your moment of reckless bliss leaves someone in a condition where there is no place of grace, no moment of respite for the rest of their lives, then that is very unfair.

Please, please, please, please, please pay attention while driving. Distracted driving destroys lives. Let that not be your life or the life of someone you love.

I think that Hunt's Pasta sauce qualifies as a Hunt's tomato item. Anyone agree or disagree and why?

I need CANNED pasta sauce for can-a-thon to go with the oodles of pasta for the foodbank. Hunt's is on sale at Publix this week...

if the first ingredient is tomato-something, imo it's a tomato item.

where's the fun?Glasses2 don' wanna miss out like i did flug's twice, was it yesterday or day b4. i got a little bit b/c they almost never clean up the quotes unless it's real serious. rather sloppy if you ask me.

i forgot. yesterday my nearest store had been showing limited cheesecakes around sunday after it was first restocked last friday or sat. i was lazy and have 2 stashed at bff's and one in my own freezer so just went yesterday. dh found 5! bought 2, one more for bff and one for me. now it's showing out of stock. i'm wondering if somebody came after me and bought 3 and it's really out of stock or inventory is screwed up. i wanted to get another raincheck to lengthen the time, but i forgot. gotta get it sunday!
