Checking in from the hospital. My dad did amazingly well - thabks for all the kind words and prayers! I believe beyond a doubt that prayers made a difference today. The surgeon ended up fixing the aortic aneuryism, which involved basically putting my dad on ice and stopping all blood flow. You can imagine the pins and needles while we waited for news. The entire surgery lasted 6+ hours, and he came through with flying colors. Still a long road of recovery yet, but God is good and we are thankful today is done.

I have to say - I am super impressed with the U of M hospital. Really awesome experience on every level thus far. Gives a certain peace when you know your dad is insuch good hands for such major surgery.

Cate, so sorry to hear about your niece. hug So devastating. Prayers for her tonight.

Hugs to all the mamas with sick kiddos, and hoping everyone gets a good night's sleep. hug

I have 6 of those coupons, is it still this week then? I haven't had time to read the thread in a few days and I know you didn't post that today.
I have the worst headache today too.
It makes shopping at Target so confusing.
I picked 4 of the wrong kind of birds eye so I got charged full price for 4 of the fishies.
Good thing I had two of the BOGO MQs with me. My cashier scanned the GS1 bar code and they both autodeducted $6.99. So I guess that made up for getting the wrong birds eye.
All the tags that were under the birds eye showing which ones were included were all in the bottom of the freezer in a pile Frown
I am thinking it must be the peas, I didn't get peas when I did the deal for the first time.
If a fishing pro would PM me I would be very appreciative.

I feel you on the "failure to thrive" thing hug. My now 7 month old was really jaundiced when born at 6 lb 11 oz, had her on a light blanket at home and constant sunlight, but still at one month she was only at 7 lb 6 oz Frown. Ped diagnosed it as breastfeeding jaundice, and it eventually cleared up with a little formula supplementing, but after that slow start she was always 1st percentile in weight every month and was termed "failure to thrive". Made me, as a first time mom, feel horrible! But at 6 months she chunked up a bit and is now a whopping 5th percentile weight, woohoo woot!! And now she is almost walking, so what she lacked in weight she is making up for in movement lol.
My DD was the same way! Finally found out when she was 8 yrs old that it wasn't failure to thrive, it was Turner Syndrome. The problems she had nursing were related to an exteme high arch in her palate, which is common with Turner.

I just found out that my niece lost her husband and 2 children in a house fire last night, while she was at work. Her husband was 31, daughter 7 and son was just 2. She struggled as a single mother for years and had tough times. She just recently married her long time boyfriend, and was finally happy to settle down and live her life. So sad to hear.
Wow, that is so sad! One of my worst nightmares for sure hug

I need to go through my swim suits and see what fits and what doesn't. Some are pretty old. I still have the bikini back from when I was married and went on my honeymoon over 10 years ago. I will never wear it again. Not sure why I still have it.

Of course I put in w the summer stuff and im sure ill be sporting it at some point this summer haha. God when did I get so cheap!

sc- i'm really sorry to hear about your niece's tragedy. hug and prayers for her.

flug- glad to hear your dad's surgery went well.

just seems like last yr and this yr is lots of medical concerns all around. tomorrow picking my mom up from cataract surgery and taking care of her for the rest of the day. 2 wks ago she had surgery on one of her lower eyelids b/c her eyelashes had turned inwards and were scraping her eyeball and that had to be corrected b4 the cataract surgery.

went to glen fry concert tonight. he struggled to hit a few of the notes but did a pretty good job overall. he's promoting a new album basically of covers of songs from the 60's a la rod stewart albums covering the 30's and 40's. and he sang his most popular songs from the eagles w/ don henley and later when he went solo. had a good time, tapped my foot to much of the music. and the tix were free, dh had won them from a radio contest so even better.

will leave you w/ a couple *i'm married to an alien* stories.

told dh that a sd'er had posted they'd been at the stop and shop 5-6 miles from us. dh asked what they were doing there. me- ummm, grocery shopping??? i'd told him that an sd'er had gone to a store near us to show that there were other sd'ers in our area. i can't understand why you'd ask what somebody was doing at a supermarket. as if there is anything else to do except to buy groceries? Confused

then on the way home tonight we stopped at that SNS b/c that one is a super and carries more stuff than the one closer to us. there was a big van that said carpet cleaning parked across the near set of doors blocking the entrance. as we drove by we could see them shampooing the rug inside the vestibule. dh asked- these doors are closed? sigh! Facepalm if the van is parked so close and across the doors and they are cleaning the carpets inside, i think it's safe to say they don't want you going in that way.

me- the other doors are open.

and they actually were open b/c they'd already cleaned the rugs in that vestibule.

have a great weekend everyone and try to put those clothing tq's to good use b4 they expire.

L2B..Congrats on you and your DD! Graduation is such a milestone and great accomplishment. Sad yet exciting day for parents. lol We, as parents, work really hard to get them to this point. You have some very beautiful children.

Does anyone know of a place to buy the $5 kohls cpns for cheap? Is the bay my best bet? Been awhile since I bought any, and only need a few (like maybe 4 or 5) so really didn't want to go for the whole 20 lot most offer.

So hot here. Supposed to be almost 90* today. DS only has 2 more days of school after today. He doesn't have to take finals so he gets out earlier than scheduled (which is actually thurs).
We have been very busy trying to get things ready for vacation. DD made me a check list...2 pages full! EEK!
I guess I did tell her to make sure we take plenty of everything cause the prices at those resorts are outrageous. I would just freak if I had to pay $15 for a bottle of sunscreen.

Good news...DD got a job!! A really nice job too (well for around here and for a full time college student lol). She will be working at our public library. Definitely beats the maid service and waitress jobs she had applied for. Not that those are bad jobs but would require her to drive 1hr day back and forth and work some really late nights. Library is about 4 blocks from home and they close at 6pm at the latest. Very nice hours!

Only shopping news I have to report is the beneful dogfood $1 bags are now all gone from one of my WM stores. bounce Very nice overage!
At Target I was able to score one of those foodsaver handseal thingies for free. RE fast drying towels are on sale for $4 minus $1tq pay $3 and they are really nice and big towels. Bought 2 for kids bathroom. Also noticed some blue and brown ones on clearance for $3.48 so would be cheaper yet. However my OCD self wanted grey or black. (matches our mickey bathroom Wink )
Got more MP lunchmeat, speedstick deo, revlon, YTC, noticed dixie summer plates that were $2 were marked down to like $1.78 or so, didn't buy any. Some nice clearance on merona shirts, found one for $3.88 so .88 after tq.

That is about it. Will be leaving in just 6 days for vacation and still have soo much to do.
Hope everyone has a great Friday!
