DH and DS are on a 3-day trip to Seattle for the USC football game tomorrow. They go to a USC game every year when they play a team not too far from us. He just texted me that they stopped at an outlet mall and went in Coach to see if they had any purse charms, but they didn't have any. Now they didn't make the stop specially for me, they always go to that outlet. I didn't know a Coach opened there though, so it was nice of them to go in there. I told him now that I get the daily email of the factory sales and if I see something nice before Sunday, I'll forward it to him and he can stop in and get it for me....LOL! I'm teasing really, I think, but now watch something tempt me!

Yah, I'm still hanging around. I generally take the summer off Targeting, bc the boys are home & not in school, but this year I still haven't started back! (No deals to inspire me)Anyway, wanted to tell you all about this book I'm reading called "The Power of Habit." There's a chapter called "How Target knows what you want before you do." Wow (understatement). Apparently, not only does Target know the last time I farted, but has analyzed that fart & also knows what I ate. And where I bought that food. And when. 1 of the things they do w/ all that data is determine what coupons to mail us. I'm hoping the fact that I never get Target coupons in the mail means I've been doing a good job of screwing up my "guest portrait."
They did a lot of talking about how Target tries to predict who's pregnant, bc those people are gold mines!
Target pretty much denied everything that was written, LOL.
And apparently they listen to online conversations, so, "Hi, Target. If you're gonna spy on people, have the balls to admit it."

I still shreek at the thought of target spying on me that much EEK! I know I look like a crazy woman going from one side of the store to the other trying to find my deals.. and when I go into the same store multiple times each week and buy the same exact items each trip. I am sure they have quite a profile on me and am wondering what to do with this crazy lady who uses a ton of cleaning wipes, stayfree pads, biore face stuff, pantene, and razors. I bet they think I am one clean well groomed shopper Wink

I tell ya, life is wearing me out. The last few weeks with the funeral, our vacation, work, catching up on stuff at work and multiple days of church activities each week has left me worn slap out. I haven't shopped in a few weeks and just don't want to. I hate that I have a big fat envelope of coupons to use but think I need to take a few weeks off myself. I really don't need any of the things I am buying recently and am not GS these days, so I should stop anyway laugh out loud DH wanted to eat out for dinner tonight but I am just too tired. In my jammies already!

i think we are both in the same region, mid-atlantic. it's apple pie from iirc 15.99 to 9.99. we should collaborate on whole foods shopping. i don't think anybody else i know on sd or any of my friends is in my region. only 2 stores in my state are in mid-atlantic and all the others are in a different region. so if i go to the city or talk to a friend the sales are not the same.

whole foods is really bad about marketing. take a look at my weekly flyer. lucky if there are 20 items on it. this one only has 16. i've only bought 1 thing from looking at it almost every wk for a whole yr. organic peaches. on the value tours i've told them a couple times that i don't shop where i don't know what's on sale. shoprite also carries organic and they put the sale items in the flyer like organic grapes are 1.99 this wk. have no idea how much they are at whole foods. so whole foods gets pushed down in priority since i don't know what's on sale and i then it ends up i hardly ever go.
http://wholefoodsmarket.com/sites...pi_REV.pdf

i will stop at trader joes over whole foods b/c they sell organic peppers by the 2pk, so if i can get 2 bigger than normal ones i'm ahead of buying them buy the lb. and then they have conventional bananas .19/lb and dh eats bananas almost every day when we have them at home (b/c it helps him go.....) so if i pick big ones they are cheaper too.
Yeah, I ended up stopping in and grabbed a few things. Not an apple pie, though. I have a very hard time spending that much $$ on pies. Wink I will say, though, that I always manage to find *something* that's a fairly good price at WF. For instance, I got a 4-pack of organic avocados for 4.99. An excellent price considering their conventional single Hass avocados were 2/$4. Confused I made guacamole that night and man, it seriously was the creamiest, richest guac I've made in a very long time. The avocados were just amazing.

WF also has reasonable prices on many of the GF staples I buy for my son. The Envirokids cereal is on sale, plus they have the $1/2 WF q. So it wasn't a pointless trip, but you are exactly right. I would be able to plan much better (and potentially spend much more) if I knew what was on sale ahead of time so I could print store qs, etc.

TJ's also has better prices on their lunch meat and sliced cheese than WF. Although I usually get a tub of lunch meat at Sam's Club, because they have a pretty big sized tub for 7.98, and its gluten-free.

Anyway, if you hear of any great deals at WF, let me know. Wink I drive by it 4 days a week, so its very convenient for me now. And if I hear of anything, I'll let you know.

Monday is my day off from piano lessons/accompaniment, so its just so nice to sit here and drink my coffee, catch up on deals, and not worry about rushing out the door in another hour or so. heart

morning.

grey here.

high volume further target and then concert in the city. i'm sick of going to low volume stores that don't carry everything and then i have to go to the other store anyway. wasting my time. bff didn't want to go to the further sns yesterday so i didn't get half my stuff. cannot believe they don't carry muir glen. i think even the low volume target at the next light has it.

morning.

sunny here today but chilly.

at first we were kind of po'd b/c we didn't know the concert was general admission standing until we picked up the tickets at the box office. and we had to stand outside in the rain waiting to get inside b/c the line wrapped around 2 sides of the block. it was not looking good.

inside the theater was really a club w/ coat check, 2-3 bars and a sandwich and snack counter (i'd never seen that b4. it was like a lunch counter.) luckily inside the theater/nightclub there were still theater seats in the back which we made a beeline for. and good thing we got seats too b/c there were 2 opening acts and then about a half hr b4 brandy came on. i actually fell asleep. they didn't even have the dj/disk jockey come back on during that time.

brandy only sang for about 45 minutes and in the middle some guy came out and sang one song (so she could take a break and change clothes). she did have 2 amazing dancers and in the 2nd half she did a lot of high energy dancing and her new song featuring chris brown (he was a track) instead of stalking back and forth across the stage like she did in the first half. besides that, the best part of the show was when she did a medley of whitney houston songs. i don't think she did any of her old popular songs which was why the concert was so short. which was too bad. but i have a feeling it really was a free promo concert for her album that is dropping today so that's why it was short. dh said he saw tickets for sale online but i don't think many people actually paid. when you pay for tickets, usually you do not have to wait outside in a long-ass line.

she also intentionally let slip there will be a 30-second clip of her video on some tv show today, i forget the name of it, but probably network tv. have to say she is in excellent shape, great dancer, very hot, which made up for a little lacking in vocals, although maybe it was just the theatre wasn't really built for sound. it was actually in the basement of the broadway theatre/hotel and you took the escalator down to the bowels of the building. so of course the ceiling was very low. when my seat neighbor was waving her arm to the music, her hand was actually blocking the spotlight for the entertainer on the stage. that theater was no radio city or carnegie hall. so maybe it was the acoustics of the place that wasn't good.

so all in all found the concert to be enjoyable and did not waste our 5.00 parking at the park and ride, 18.90 each round trip taking the bus into the city and 13.xx buying dinner at mcdonalds. even though we had free tickets, you have to calculate all the peripheral costs which can be very hefty. altogether cost us about 60.00 so would have sucked if we had a lousy time.

Good Morning!

Busy times here. Beautiful weather to take advantage of, so that is what we have been doing! Yard sale was horrible. Found out later in the morning Sat. that almost everyone was at the local soccer games playing double-headers to end the season. Even the local cafe owner stopped by to see where everyone was at. lol She said it was soo slow at her cafe and knew something must be going on. Uggh. Around here sales just aren't as good as they used to be. Local papers have closed up shop, so no real way to advertise.
On a good note the FB buy/sale site is booming. I delivered more goods last night from sales on there than I made at the yard sale. Took about 30min and I was done! Much less work.

I was excited to get a Target mailer in the mail!! This is the one with the 3 TQ's in it. My question is...Can the 5%off entire purchase tq be used on disney gc's?? I know some giftcards ring up as restaraunt/entertainment cards so used to be eligible. I haven't bought any lately so not sure anymore. I was needing to buy the 31 $50 disney gc's left at my store and if I could save another 5% with this cpn on top of the 5%redcard savings that would be awesome!! Anyone know??

Haven't been to Target in over a week. Not even sure what the deals are this week, if any. Sad that the glade deal is over. I actually really liked those new diffusers. Oh well, on to the next deal!! lol

morning.

sunny but chilly here. really need to focus on housework today. was busy printing coupons yesterday. 3.00 hormel is back at coupons.com, zip 77477. i missed the last round as well as about 2 wks of ip's b/c we got a bad toner cartridge a few wks ago. printed the renuzit mq and tq, .75 baileys that doubles and then goes on sale 3/5.00 around here, etc.

@ flug- today is castle marathon day on tnt. you can check the schedule here if there are any episodes you want to dvr for later. sorry, you might be working today and miss this. they've been doing this every wk so hu for next wk? they'll be doing this wkly until the schedule gets disrupted for the holidays.
http://www.tntdrama.com/schedule/

as for all you guys lurking, come on out and play!

MK- how did the soup turn out? did you like it? it's not as sweet as it's usually made which i liked. butternut squash is not a dessert soup nor is it pumpkin so don't know why they usually make it that way.

tm4d- would love to see pics of your beds when you finish building them.

Morning, all!

Photos, the FB buy/sell group in my area is very slow. I haven't tried it yet, just because hardly anyone ever posts on there. I'm going to have a big blowout yard sale this Saturday, and then start tapering off. I'm starting a job on Monday, so I won't have near as much time to devote to shopping/couponing as before. I'll miss the thrill of the more intense couponing, but I will *not* miss the amount of time it sucks from my day, or the fact that my weekends are quite frequently tied up with yard sales.

Anyway, happy hump day to all!

Hey Flug,
Good luck with the sale. I don't cpn near as much as I used to. Not even close. lol Mostly just to get our food cheaper. And I totally agree about how much time it takes up. I spend more time on buy/sell than I do cpning. lol But I am just really tired of having all this 'stuff' in totes that we don't even use. I have sold a TON of stuff. But the one that I am selling on has 12,000 members. Just this week alone I have made about $575. It is just refreshing to be able to benefit my family in a way other than stockpiling stuff we don't really need. lol Cash is always beneficial for us. Smilie

I will say that I have noticed that as my kids get older, we don't seem to 'need' as much as I thought we did. Not sure why. Just the way it is.

I did find out that the 5%tq that was in the mailer apparently DOES work on disney giftcards!! So I am going to try it and will end up saving about $175 towards our trip!

BTW... Good luck with your new job Flug!

12,000 members! OMG OMG OMG

i ran to look and can't find any in my immediate vicinity at all. there are 2 listed for my state but both far away, one w/ 312 members and one w/ 236 members.

bff sells stuff on craigs list but she says everybody wants everything for free. i've also met somebody at my yardsale that got scammed on craigslist when she bought/sold furniture, can't remember which.
