Hey, guys - looking for 2 ingredients for new Christmas cookie recipes I want to try, and I can't find them. Maybe someone on here can help?

Mini Hershey Kisses
crystallized ginger

Wegman's had the crystallized ginger, but it was in the bottled spices and cost $10+ for a tiny jar. vomit shake head

Do you live near an Asian grocery store/market? They should carry this for a lot cheaper than Wegman's Smilie. I double checked with my hubby, who's Filipino, and he said the same thing, Asian grocers will have it. I used to live in NoVa, so I know there are a few up there for you to choose from. My dad still lives in Reston, and we go up there quite often, so if you need specific store names let me know Wave

Hmmm.... I asked my husband, and he wasn't sure,, but he can barely even cook scrambled eggs so take that with a grain of salt, haha. I can ask my mother-in-law in the morning though and let you know what she tells me Smilie. I usually just go to the Asian marts to pick up banana ketchup, sorry I can't be of more help!

Try the baking section as they used to be special bags for them to "bake" with. If nothing else try a bulk candy store, I know we have Amish marts near us that carry every candy under the sun in prepackaged bags and some loose. GF gets all her sprinkle for her cookies there!

it will be in the candy aisle. probably towards the back of the aisle in bags in the bins around knee level. also in small clear plastic canisters about shoulder level w/ all the dried prunes.

i think most supermarkets carry crystallized ginger, esp those w/ a big English, Scottish or Irish populations. it's a more popular candy there and for baking.

i know you don't have shoprite but they also carry it. looks like in the health food aisle. 4.0 oz for 3.09 cuz it's organic.

i would bet wegman's also has it as candy so cheaper. i don't know which wegman's you are closest to so i searched the fairfax one and they have all different size packages and price points. not sure which section nature's marketplace is but it also looks like they sell it by weight in the bulk section at 8.49/lb.

Was up way too late and slept way too long.

Anyone else ever wonder when they became that grizzled "vet" that makes snarky comments, you know the ones that kinda scared you off from posting too much until you knew enough not to be an ass?

For goodness sake, search the thread once in awhile and do some research on your on instead of posting the so pitiful help me... I resell and I'm not making enough $$ off of the regular posters...I haven't read the thread and don't need to because y'all always help me out.

people actually post that s****? where? where? hasn't been entertainment in a really long time. might actually have to go back to hot deals to get my fix. i used to say sd for me was 50% deals and 50% entertainment. lately hasn't been much of either. (ok deals slowing down is probably a good thing cuz my house was beginning to look like hoarders.)

i actually got the best deal on some rayovac led lanterns during their black friday wknd sale from an email newsletter i get periodically. the company store was way cheaper than amazon and ebay.

i have to say that the freshmen and sophomores have been the ones who've been perpetuating this behavior by eagerly responding when people have been asking for the deals in pm instead of Rtfm (a little exaggeration. b4 this yr people would say to go back and read.) even the mod said cut that s*** out already, this is a public forum, we all learned by posting and reading, not pm'ing.

I admit sometimes I get a little lost and need a push in the right direction, especially in the Target thread back in the day as it was SO many clearance posts and finding the regular deals was a challenge, but that was when I was doing all three DS, Target, Shop Rite, Acme, and Walmart............lot easier now that I'm down to a few stores but gonna pick up RA & CVSing again in the new year and boy is that going to be a PITA to get back into!
