It's not the same... once in a blue moon posts, no sharing of halloween costumes your kids had on, etc.
Thrifteh could find things no one else had ever even seen.
I'm guessing that M2C's kids are grown by now (and flugette's and setsail's)
PS Kohls has changed also
My stockpiles have pretty much ran out and I have actually paid for toothpaste recently, oh the horror!

At least I got called back to my job that I was laid off. Now I work at a different Jcp.
Boy it has been like 4 years. I was struggling mentally on how to make everything work. Knowing that I was going to be laid off at Kohler December 10 and my JCP was closing in January.
The good news is yes I am back at Kohler. Very very low on the seniority in my work area. 16 years there. And I only work one day a week at JCP.
Yes I remember those 14 and 16 deals. Yep Those were the good days
Now while I was super duper under employed. I can thank God above for all the help couponing did to pay the bills.
In 2012 I had to get another car. Mine had 300k on it. Oh I so loved it. But I needed work done on it. And I was working a temporary job at Kohler and still at Jcp.
I couldn't get a car loan at the time. Hmm my mortgage payments were close to my ENTIRE JCP paycheck. The bank asked if I had any other income. Because they knew everything was getting paid. I said Nope no other income to report, How was I suppose to say...I am selling my stockpiles to survive. I don't think so. I ended up taking out a 401k loan. You gotta do what you gotta do to survive.
Anyway if it wasn't for all of you I could of never been able to stay in my house.

Here I am seeing flurries and thanking the weather god that in two weeks I will be seeing palm trees, unless I get snowed in Chicago.
This thread was a lifeline when I found it and provided much needed info to keep my family afloat. So thankful for all the posters in here who gladly shared what they learned!!
And tnnative, just for you, here's a couple pics of my kids. My son is 9 and my girls are 8 and 6. Growing up so fast!
