What does invite others to use prime mean (under the account tab) does this mean to authorize others to use my prime account for free, or does it mean to invite others that have a edu. e-mail to sign up???
^You can invite anyone (up to 4 others), with any email address to share your Prime account. You won't see any of their purchase and they won't see any of yours.
Family invites may say that they are only for one month (at least it was for my wife) but they also get a full year and 4 invites!!! - Morning_Breath
- well, for the invites it said Subscription Duration = 1 month. However, the prime account showed valid until Jul 13, 2011. So we will know if it is valid for 1-year ONLY after 30 days.

This is nothing to worry about. If they do end up charging you, just call them and tell them you'd like to cancel. I had a three month trial renew on me, which I didn't catch until over a month later. I called, said I never used the service and didn't want to keep it, and they gave me a full refund on the spot.

(We already have a Prime account, but was just curious/bored so decided to see if one could really get a .edu address this way.)
I'm assuming a year is... 12 months.
Mine expires on 02/28 as well. I'm HOPING they keep the $39 deal until the end of the month and not switch it back to $79.

If I could just get another six months through August I'd be happy renewing at that time.
I guess I could make a new amazon account and use a different .edu, but will Amazon cross check my personal/address/payment information? I'd hate to put my current account in jeopardy. Plus, I'd end up having to renew my new Amazon account when it expires, and I would then have some gift certificate balance on my old account (along with my Amazon Visa and its cash back credit, which I'm guessing would not be linkable to my new account if I wanted to not arouse red flags).
Seems like a lot of risk. I'm perfectly okay with renewing for $39, but I want my yearly cycles to start and end in the summer, not February.
