I bet the ratings would go up if they advertised that.
Something else would also go up, but I digress. Embarrassment

It's implied that Oceanic 815 is the same as it was prior to the crash, with Jack and Rose having the same exact seats, the same exact conversation, and even Jack having the same interaction with the flight attendant. It would be weird if those things happened exactly the same but then entire people were missing. Plus, we know Kate was on the plane because we already saw it in s06e03, when she escaped the Marshall and helps Claire. If his wife was in shackles on the plane he was taking, I think we'd know. Also, David lives in that house with his mom. Kate has been arrested for awhile and is being transported. It's definitely not Kate and I strongly doubt it's Libby or any of the losties.
The "butterfly effect" seems inconsistent in that some things play out exactly the same as it originally did yet some things are so different, like Jack having a son (assuming he didn't have one in the original time line), etc.

Someone mentioned a while ago that Aaron might be that kid that the fake Locke (MIB) and Sawyer saw a couple episodes ago. If he somehow wound up back on the island (last we heard, he was w/ his grandmother), then maybe he had the anti-Richard aging effect, where he's aging 4 years every year, which is why he looked 12. Confused

I think that's where the whole concept of "destiny" comes into play...that no matter how hard you try to change the past, you're still destined to follow a certain path in life. What you do along the way may be different, but ultimately, you're still going to end up in the same place.

And there were slight variations between the original timeline and the "flash-sideways"...in the original, Rose was the nervous flyer and Jack reassured her, in the "flash-sideways", the roles are reversed. Also, Cindy gave 2 bottles of vodka to Jack in the original, while she only gave him 1 in the "flash-sideways".

The opposite is implied. Desmond's now on the flight so anybody can be on or off that was or wasn't on the plane before.

You're right, I just came back to correct myself. I still think that Desmond's presence on the flight can be explained by the fact that the island not playing a part changes his life. We've also seen Ben and Chinese Guy in places they weren't otherwise, but we haven't really seen that same issue with the losties. We haven't seen any evidence that the lack of the island doesn't put any of the losties on that flight.

I don't remember those details, but kudos to you for doing so. Cool

Like all of the other "Lost" fans, I'm really curious to finding out what the ultimate destiny is for all these characters. I'll be pissed if that's not answered by the series finale.

Wasn't Jack the only one that saw Desmond? I remember Jack asking Rose if she saw where he went and she didn't seem to know what he was talking about...maybe he wasn't actually on the plane? just a vision/dream?

It seems Jack was the only one who saw or interacted with Desmond. I was personally wondering if maybe Desmond was alternate reality jumping like his time with Eloise (before we knew who Eloise was Confused)

Haha...thanks, but I didn't notice it at first, either, I picked it up from other discussion boards. You might find this video rather interesting though, it shows the season 1 and season 6 versions side-by-side: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-1qzelSWpE

I wonder less about who it is and more about why his hands are covered in blood.

Don't you remember when Kate was running down the sidewalk to get a taxi....she looked over and saw Jack.
That's the one I was thinking, just couldn't place the exact moment.

.. and now Cindy is in a McDonald's commercial laugh out loud

Wait, little blond kid's hands were covered in blood? Man, I watched that episode like three times and must've been too preoccupied trying to figure out his face. Guess one more time through can't hurt Smilie

I hope tonight's episode is a good one. Looking forward to see how the mib/claire going to the temple turns out.

Same here - this one should be really good since it brings all of the island folks back together - at least I would think it should.

I don't know if it's just me or what, but I'm quite a bit more interested in the island time line than the LA time line. Maybe it's b/c I've known the island characters for 6 seasons but the LA characters for just this season (at least in 2004 time).

Yea, I pretty much feel the same way. I don't mind the LA time line, but I wish the episodes were 1.5 hrs so that way we would get more island time in.
