^ According to IMDB [imdb.com], Maggie Grace was in 34 episodes of "Lost" from 2004 to 2007 but doesn't mention her in 2010. Frown It could be that IMDB has updated her bio, but more likely, it doesn't look like she'll return. Sadwalk
It could just mean that the ep wasn't shot yet.

Possibly, but with less than 1.5 months to go before the finale, they had better hurry it up. By now, I would've thought they're done shooting the show and are in the editing phase.

Many weekly tv shows are only a couple of weeks to a month ahead of air date, and even that is usually because they work through a hiatus on the air, such as in October or January, which Lost doesn't have because their air all their episodes straight through. They can easily shoot and edit a show in one week, early in seasons they're sometimes only 1-2 weeks ahead of airdate. Also consider that a show like Lost might shoot scenes out of order. For example that one scene where Sayid was killing those men with Jin locked in the freezer was probably shot all at once, from Sayid's standpoint and from Jin's standpoint.

They started shooting the finale either last week or the week before, they should be wrapping up shooting very soon now.

I don't believe that this is the case for LOST. They typically shoot episodes one at a time, because they get the scripts for the episodes one at a time. I remember a recent episode of Jorge Garcia's podcast where he mentioned that Kevin Durand (Keamy) flew out to Hawaii for one episode this season, went home, and flew back out a few weeks later to shoot the other episode.

Well parts of the second episode would not have been in that scene. Sayid's episode would not have included Keamy being in the Kims' hotel room, for instance, so he had to shoot that at a different time. But I think they shoot the individual scenes all at once to maintain consistency. Otherwise Lostphiles would bitch and moan about how this knife was there the first time and now it's gone or somewhere else.

While it would make more sense to shoot the scene all at once, even if it would be spread out over several episodes, I can imagine the producers of "Lost" shooting scenes per episode so that the future plot isn't revealed to other actors. Remember, only the actor playing Dr. Jack knows how it all ends - no other actors do.

Let's play a game of "How addicted to LOST are you"
I am in the process of moving and am stuck at the new house without transportation AND because of where we sit I can't get even 1 channel on the converter box/antenna. When I realized this I immediately called the cable provider and demanded to have basic cable installed before LOST came on tonight. They told me they understood my dilemma and would have someone install it today for me Teehee
I guess that proves how addicted to LOST I am since I refused to subscribe to cable for the past 10 years due to their price gouging.

Even Matthew Fox may not know, fellow actors have expressed doubt that he's being accurate when he says that. Either way though, shooting several points of view of the same scene does not necessarily give away plot. Shooting that scene with Jin and Sayid from both points of view wouldn't have given away any plot. And further, we're past that point anyway. That was a consideration before this season started, not now. Once this season started, surely the actors have begun getting their scripts pretty far in advance. I'd imagine that they all have scripts for the ending by now. If the ending is that tightly kept under wraps, perhaps they even have decoy scenes and endings in there, that won't be used.

I remember seeing a Lost special where they talked about people on the show being in charge of knowing where the guns and the knives are because it might come up later where X gun is.

Yeah, most shows and movies do this -- it is a continuity thing, just like the makeup artists take polaroids of the actors makeup and hair so they can reproduce the same look for the next day of shooting. and sometimes - and I would imagine in the case of lost -- they have multiple identical outfits the cast wears and the all have to have the same 'stains' and same 'holes' in each of them. Very rarely are episodes or even scenes shot from 1st to last.
