It's a huge event, that doesn't surprise me. I think this is the Super Bowl of TV finales. It wouldn't surprise me if it rivaled Cheers or Seinfeld, but I'm thinking it would match Friends at a minimum. If it ever caught MASH, that would be something, but I doubt it will be quite that popular.
I don't think it'll be that big b/c "Lost" is no longer consistently in the top 20 in the Nielsen's ratings. I think "Friends", "Cheers", and "Seinfeld" were consistently in the top 20, but I'm going by memory from a long time ago.

However, "Lost" will most likely beat the "24" series finale, which will air on Mon. evening.

Oh yeah...didn't look at the TV listing right. So 9pm - 11:30pm.

Even better. Smilie

I'll have to make sure that my DVR picked up the correct timing of the show and that it'll record this over "Apprentice" (due to the time conflict). That means I'll watch "Apprentice" live and then 2.5 hours of the "Lost" finale via DVR.

I know. What the heck are we going to do without LOST and 24?

What else do you watch? Maybe I'll follow you to a new show. laugh out loud

...
I know, next year will be tough w/o these shows, esp. the 1st half of the week! I'm also losing a 3rd show in "Numb3rs". Sadwalk

Other 1-hr. drama shows I watch are "Chuck", "Castle", and "Human Target". At least the "C" and "C" shows are definitely re-signed for next year and probably "HT" will be as well. What shows do you watch? I'll be looking to add a couple new shows to my DVR next year. Smilie

Yea, you might be right about that. Lost is huge in the demo but older folks aren't really watching.

I wonder if it really is a good idea for the WWE to host a PPV tomorrow night since it conflicts w/ the "Lost" finale. I'm sure there's some common demographics between the 2, although probably not a lot. shake head

I don't think it's a whole lot, I think it's mostly teenaged boys that watch WWE, and maybe some 20-somethings that haven't grown out of it yet that probably aren't yet the typical 18-49 demo that broadcast tv targets. I stopped watching WWE consistently right around 17 or 18, I still caught some PPVs if I heard about some interesting storyline without watching their shows, but it's not like I skipped other big events to watch them.

Honestly the only thing that could even remotely take me away from Lost tomorrow night would be Yankees-Mets with CC Sabathia vs. Johan Santana, but even that doesn't have much juice with the Mets playing like shit. I'll probably just check in during commercials and then run right back to Lost.

You'd be surprised at who still follows the WWE. Their ratings and wwe.com page views are constantly up there and their PPVs keep selling out (at least the live events, not sure about the PPV orders themselves). I watched WWF/WWE as a kid, too (a lot), but then on and off. But since last summer when I found out Fri. Night Smack Down is on free TV and in HD, I've been watching that somewhat consistently. But I don't order the PPVs (I don't have cable, so I couldn't order even if I wanted to). A friend who works for the WWE and I get the inside scoop from him occasionally.

Yes, the Subway Series. If I was still living in NJ, I'd be torn about wanting to watch that, FOX, NBC, and ABC all at the same time. Unfortunately, I won't have to make that choice about the baseball game, so I'll just have to catch the box score and video recap later that night.

Hard to believe we're less than 30 hours or so from the series finale of "Lost".

BTW, LOL @ the Jimmy Kimmel/Jacob clip SlickDealio posted. Maybe I'll watch his show w/ the "Lost" special on Hulu later in the week, but certainly not on Sun. night.

I'm not surprised that WWE has followers, I just don't think it has much overlap for the typical demographic that will be tuning into Lost or any other major broadcast television show. The demographic that likes WWE probably watches that and sports, with maybe some shows like Family Guy and the Simpsons, not primetime broadcast television. That's just my opinion, but when I was REALLY into pro wrestling (like at 12-14), I wasn't into sitcoms or dramas at all. When I started getting into them is when I started moving away from wrestling. I dunno, I just can't imagine the big wrestling fan Monday night gearing up for that big episode of Raw by watching the season finale of How I Met Your Mother.

Oh I love me some Chuck, and Castle is fun too. I don't do HT but do The Apprentice and used to do Numbers and Fringe but got conflicts in my DVR - so I only get those thru reruns. I do CSI, Parenthood, The Good Wife, The Menaltist, and Greys of course and my new stoopit TV obsession is The Vampire Diaries.

This enhanced episode is irritating. Way too much commentary and it's all super obvious stuff. I don't know if I'll make it through the entire thing...

...and commenting stuff that is not even relevant to the episode...if they are trying to explain 6 years worth of Lost to "new people" it isn't even worth trying....

..the "Locke's-mango-smiley-face" thing seemed sooo much creepier

Is it just me, or were there more commercials than programing? I could swear they actually cut out some footage to insert additional advertising.

I was thinking the same thing. I also noticed the edges of the show were cut off. I got fed up with it about halfway through. I sure hope there were no brand new people watching... talk about an episode full of stupid spoilers.

Tonight better deliver. I'm just sayin'. woot
