I'm here.

Sorry, had to start making a B2S shopping list.

Nothing says "well, your summer's not over, but to make it seem like it is, we're going to make you start a shopping list" like having to write down everything you might possibly need.

In 1978, when I was in college for pre-med (because it was the closest thing they offered to genetic biochemistry back then) everyone was all freaking scared outta their gourd after the movie "The Andromeda Strain" came out. Couple that with a few biological disasters, and all the good professors got much better-paying offers from the newly-forming genetic research (and later bio-engineering) firms. I was going to grow up to be an evil mad scientist that bred long-tailed hamsters and such (it's a Bloom County reference to Oliver Wendell Jones, in case you don't get the joke) until the educational system fell out from under me, I discovered how much I loved computers, and I met my soon-to-be ex-wife.

Mix me up a quick cocktail of cockatiel genome, will ya? Please

I can't believe you gave it all up for computers! Tongue

It's not really a list, more like things I can't forget.

It helped to have like 15 "college essentials" guides in front of me to help laugh out loud

I have. Biggest difference is that this year, I get a whole apartment! Well, with 3 roommates, but I have a full-sized fridge!

You say that now... don't come complaining to us when your three stupid roommates eat all your food and spill something sticky all over something or shove something to the back of the fridge so that it freezes against the wall.

Just wait. laugh out loud

laugh out loud. I rarely ever have a stockpile of food. But when I do, it's usually locked away. I don't trust anyone to not eat my food. Nono1

Only reason to have a fridge is mostly to keep the whole 32-pack of bottled water cold at once. Although I learned last year if you keep 2 bottles or less in the fridge, your roommate will buy their own laugh out loud

Dude... bottled water is SO not a slick deal... Facepalm

Get one of these:

And one of these:

You'll save SO much. When I go to bed, I fill mine half way and freeze it. Then I just refill it throughout the day. Big Grin

Yeah, I only wish I could have started making more when I got into developing software way back then. You wouldn't believe the farking idiots my employer used to pay $60K to start. If they weren't provided a pretty little GUI interface, they were totally lost. Sheesh.
