And it goes for almost $200 (yes, $200) in the bookstore.
You only save about $10-15 with Chegg and other rental services - you get SOOO much more buying and reselling at the end of the semester.
I checked out Chegg and it was over $80 to rent it. So you paid $80 to use it for a semester, or you could keep it in good condition (which isn't hard) and sell it for a $25 loss. And that was if you bought it new at full retail price.
And I could have just bought the 5th edition instead of the 6th, since they're the fricking same inside (actually, the 5th had more of the online homework problems in it
I did both last semester, because I had two books that wouldn't have made back the money I spent on Chegg.
Are you clairvoyant?

I'll be able to sell it for probably around $20-$30 come december. But yeah, I always check through bigwords.com first, and chegg and the other book rental services are NEVER more than about $10-$15 less than what it is to buy it used. So I always buy it used, because I'll easily be able to sell it for more than that tiny difference.
I hope you're on beta blockers, too.

Probably because they didn't want the hassle of selling.
Were they a slickdealer?

Most of my science class books are like that. They maybe add a few diagrams, some updated pictures, and they get to charge $150 for it.
But I just go around that, and buy the older edition for about $10.

I had previously created .iso images of the DVD's with running AnyDVD in the background.
Well at least my DH isn't the only one on that crap

I see people in line, buying crap at the book stores, and I'm like...
