Well, I just ordered my Child Psychology textbook. I got the 3 year old 6th edition instead of the brand new 7th edition, but I don't care:

Quote :
Subtotal of Items: $5.00
Shipping & Handling: $3.99
Total: $8.99
Gift Cards: -$5.00
Total for this Order: $3.99
Considering the new version is $115 (cheapest I could find was $103 EEK!), I'll take it. Now, to order my Geography textbook for almost the same price laugh out loud

Chegg = rip off. Plain and simple.

Buying and re-selling them at the end of the semester is a lower less than renting with no resell value at the end.

Someone intelligent explain this one.

I just burned three DVD's for a lady-friend. Two were DL and one was SL.

I don't usually use DL media but I had some ultra-ultra crappy CMC (horrors!) DL +R discs from a few years ago. Bottom-rung media. Total junk. Both DVD's burned fine, no read errors, and no problems with the layer change.

I just burned the SL disc using Taiyo Yuden Premium Line - the ones from Singapore! not the recent Value Line crap - for the image that was smaller than 4.37GB. 79 read errors.

Confused

I made cornbread tonight to go with the grilled pork steaks. Made it with buttermilk, smoked bacon, Vermont sharp white cheddar, chopped pepperoncinis, chopped white onions and green onions, and fresh corn off the cob. Slathered it with honey butter when it came out and it was fantastic. I'm definitely gonna do it that way again sometime, because it was really, really delicious. nod

Iagree

You only save about $10-15 with Chegg and other rental services - you get SOOO much more buying and reselling at the end of the semester.

Probably because they didn't want the hassle of selling. Grin

Not necessarily.

I did both last semester, because I had two books that wouldn't have made back the money I spent on Chegg.

Well, I paid $140ish for my Calc textbook last semester, and it still trades in for $100. I could trade it in and have essentially paid $40 for a semester's rental, or have paid the $60 Chegg rents it for.

And it goes for almost $200 (yes, $200) in the bookstore.
