Cliffs Notes:

My older sister = Crazy
My younger sister = getting married on Monday. I'm not supposed to mention Dungeon Master in the toast.
Me = being driven slowly insane by my parents. Teaching my children that their grandparents are to be feared and it is making me nuts. It's sad when the 2 1/2 days we spent in Branson made me think "This is what Grandparents are supposed to be..." and they're not my kids' Grandparents. Frown

Insane-o sister arrives tomorrow at midnight. With 2 of her 4 kids. She's leaving her 5 yr old with Dad and MIL, bringing the 2 yr old twins. 16 yr old is in Houston, but isn't speaking to her now so he probably won't come to the wedding.

Need. More. Wine.
Comfort hug

SQUISHY!!! Woot

Good morning, all. It's going to be another insanely hot day. I have house stuff to do. In the air conditioning.

wave Is it friday yet?

I haven't posted a lot of pics lately, actually posted three new "high speed" ones at the bottom of thisthread last week.

Bought an umbrella and mount, took some portraits. Getting better at it laugh out loud I posted one of my wife in my profile (and no, I'm not posting it publicly, and yes I know TS has access to it and will save it, but please don't be a prick)

I may have a paid shoot at the end of the month... And by paid I mean -- I'll take some picture (nothing intense, maybe half an hours worth) in exchange for a meal laugh out loud We'll see.

Oh Max, I like everything about that picture! I love how she's looking off to the side, her smile that's not really a smile and I even like how her chain is twisted up with another chain. I think it's great that you can make people notice those little details.
I see people blur out the background often (the books) to focus on the subject and I've decided that the only bluriness I'm ever going to get is from my shaking hand or my kid moving too fast. laugh out loud

Thanks metoday, appreciated Smilie

That's one of the main reasons I love SLRs, it's impossible to get the same depth with small cameras. You can get some depth, but just not the same... (not rubbing it in, just commenting/explaining why) laugh out loud

Those are all great! I really love the one you did of her. She looks so beautiful.

I would LOVE to have one, but I'm pretty sure my husband has made it his mission for me NOT to have one. He keeps saying, "A picture is a picture." IT IS NOT! Probably just as well. I wouldn't know how to use all of the bells and whistles anyway.

laugh out loud I wouldn't have thought you were rubbing it in.

I'm with Jenni, though. I'm not sure I'd ever figure out how to use it.

I could probably if I knew someone to sit and show me, but I don't comprehend written directions well. Well, maybe. That's a LOT of bells and whistles. laugh out loud

Yeah, I got luck, my wife is very supportive of my hobby Whee

When your camera dies, scower CL for a deal. You may be able to find a gently used older model SLR for the price of a new point&shoot. Dontknow

The SLR manuals are like mini-books. No joke... those things (even the older ones) have SO many features that you just don't know what to do with laugh out loud
