Cliffs Notes:
My older sister =
My younger sister = getting married on Monday. I'm not supposed to mention Dungeon Master in the toast.
Me = being driven slowly insane by my parents. Teaching my children that their grandparents are to be feared and it is making me nuts. It's sad when the 2 1/2 days we spent in Branson made me think "This is what Grandparents are supposed to be..." and they're not my kids' Grandparents.
Insane-o sister arrives tomorrow at midnight. With 2 of her 4 kids. She's leaving her 5 yr old with Dad and MIL, bringing the 2 yr old twins. 16 yr old is in Houston, but isn't speaking to her now so he probably won't come to the wedding.
Need. More. Wine.
Good morning, all. It's going to be another insanely hot day. I have house stuff to do. In the air conditioning.
I haven't posted a lot of pics lately, actually posted three new "high speed" ones at the bottom of thisthread last week.
Bought an umbrella and mount, took some portraits. Getting better at it
I may have a paid shoot at the end of the month... And by paid I mean -- I'll take some picture (nothing intense, maybe half an hours worth) in exchange for a meal
anyone that wants them please paypal me $5
And I agree, I tell that to everyone

I see people blur out the background often (the books) to focus on the subject and I've decided that the only bluriness I'm ever going to get is from my shaking hand or my kid moving too fast.

That's one of the main reasons I love SLRs, it's impossible to get the same depth with small cameras. You can get some depth, but just not the same... (not rubbing it in, just commenting/explaining why)

I'm with Jenni, though. I'm not sure I'd ever figure out how to use it.

Me too.
I would LOVE to have one, but I'm pretty sure my husband has made it his mission for me NOT to have one. He keeps saying, "A picture is a picture." IT IS NOT! Probably just as well. I wouldn't know how to use all of the bells and whistles anyway.
Yeah, I got luck, my wife is very supportive of my hobby
When your camera dies, scower CL for a deal. You may be able to find a gently used older model SLR for the price of a new point&shoot.
