i had an unintended, unexpected 0 oop trans at T the other day because something rang up for less than I expected it to/less than it was tagged and got so much grief for it from the cashier who called supervisor over and started yelling loudly do you want to check what she's doing, it went down to zero, are you sure she can do that, blah, blah, blah. then supervisor called security over to show how one cannot cheat with qs because it will beep if you try to use it more times than the number of products you have. Facepalm Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

eventually, they gave me my rcpt and off I went. BUT, it was embarrassing and annoying. is this common at T on 0 oop trans?

also, does T carry Crystal Light pure fitness? Looked for it at one T but they only had the regular kind. was hoping if the pure fitness is on TPC for $2 or under I could use the vocalpoint 2/1 mqs. has anyone seen them for 2 or less, please?

as I noted in my post yesterday, many, many summer sandals/shoes have already gone on sale/clearance. so check your shoe aisles. and when you see something tagged just with the regular tag, don't believe it - price check. things are ringing up less! Big Grin
OT but if you have a Vons or Safeway near you the Crystal Light Fitness is on sale for 2.00 so no beeps!

To me, this is a problem. Theoretically, someone could go in and buy $250 worth of groceries and a wii, use $200 in GROCERY coupons, have those GROCERY coupons apply to the wii instead. It's abuse if it's done intentionally, and I have no doubt that people will take advantage of that little glitch.

I think if you qualify for assistance, then you shouldn't be purchasing an XBOX 360 and a PS3 and their accessories and should instead use that money to buy stuff your family NEEDS so the taxpayers don't have to. I realize your opinion is different, but I'm certainly entitled to mine as well.
The OP was confused about her transaction total, and I answered regarding it. She thought she would have more oop, and would have to pay *her money* for the non food purchases. I explained what happened. Then others started going back and forth about who should be *allowed* to buy what, regardless of whether it was money they earned working a full time job. OP didn't buy a CONSOLE she bought a Live points card-big difference. Could have been a birthday present or something. Taxpayers aren't buying the other stuff, the coupons are. OP was doing well trying to stretch the money she was given by using coupons. She didn't intend for the situation to happen.

Wow...

It's like Black Friday/Christmas in July...

Stress

It is interesting (amusing??) that folks are complaining about being scrutinized for their q's now. Um... apparently all the warnings about 0.00 oop transactions that include 20 boxes of cereal and huge transactions with many multiple tq's fell on very deaf ears - cuz they still don't get it. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Now we've got folks buying 40 shirts at a time and stomping their feet when a mgr (who has the right to limit quantities) wants to limit the number you can purchase at a time?? Way to make it easy on yourself for the future...

I have a couple of very liberal stores that would allow me to use 40 of the same TQ if I really wanted to... but even on my greediest day, I can't bring myself to do that to the cashier. I don't want the excess attention - good or bad. Plus, if you do that often enough, eventually you'll run into a cranky enough cashier that will cause problems and get the management rethinking their niceties. It's just not worth it to me to ruin it long term. There's always another deal around the corner. ALWAYS! Circo, c9, merona, etc... those are all repeats. GC deals, cereal deals, etc... they all come back around - sometimes a little different (one week, sb gc - another week razors, etc...) But there are PLENTY of options. For now, anyways... *sigh* Keep it up, and they'll just decide to make it harder and harder.

thanks i was just hoping someone had a C9 hang tag handy and could say what kind of coupon it is. All of mine are at home and I won't be out of work for another 4 hours and honestly don't remember what the back of them look like.
unfortunately, there are both tq and mq hangtags.

so now it depends on what you took them off of. hate to have to say this, but that's in the wiki too.

We don't KNOW the op's situation and shouldn't judge.

I've seen so much welfare abuse that I applaud someone who is slick dealing to be able to afford needs, and maybe even a few wants, that they wouldn't otherwise be able to afford.

Taxpayers aren't footing the bill for the non food items; if you read my post earlier, it shows how all the coupons come off the non food purchase, even if they are for the food purchase. Therefore, the food is being paid for with the EBT. Don't get so high and mighty about people using EBT and daring to buy something that isn't required. It's offensive. Just because someone uses and is qualified for EBT, doesn't mean they can't buy items other than food. It just means that the family size and income bracket qualify them for assistance.
I am sure the state would wholly disagree and don't get defensive when my post had nothing to do with food stamp recipients in general and everything to do with common sense. The tax payers did indeed foot the bill for her extras, EBT should have covered the $4.50 not covered by her food coupons. Nowhere did I get "high and mighty", you took a legitimate issue I had with her willful misuse of taxpayer money personally... I think that speaks volumes. You get on people for knowingly allowing the misuse of coupons but you are okay with knowingly allowing the misuse of food stamps?
Quote from kate1987 :
I am not on welfare or anything like that but I try not to judge people that are

Just because they need some sort of help does that mean they aren't supposed to have any fun whatsoever?
When you receive food stamps and/or cash assistance... allocating your extra funds for things like Xbox Live Points is a slap in the face to the tax payers and to people in need who do not qualify for assistance. I know students, single parents and families who make just over the amount to qualify for any type of assistance (food stamps, cash, medical) who cut out every non-necessity and still come up short. In this case, she paid for these extras not with her own extra funds but with the tax payers funds that were given to her for food, not entertainment.
Quote from phoenixjean1 :
Ok, now you are blowing it out of proportion. A $300 game console is a far cry from a $19.99 Live points card. As other posters have said, just because you need assistance doesn't mean you can't have fun. A lot of people have assistance, and also work full time jobs. Does that mean they can't use the money they have earned to use as they choose? Yes, everyone can have their own opinion, but that's just what it is, an opinion. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's wrong. Coupons coming off a bill a certain way doesn't mean someone is doing something wrong. Besides, there are many forms of government assistance. How about the people who took advantage of the $8,000 tax credit for buying a new home? Do they suddenly need to stop buying fun things for their families because they *gasp* took government assistance? No. Just because someone qualifies for something doesn't mean they have to follow some narrow minded person's view on what should be bought or not, what can be afforded or not.The money is taken and used for what it's intended for. Period.
How is saying FOOD stamps should be used to pay for FOOD and not video game related nonsense a "narrow minded" view? Food stamps are given so people can use their cash for necessities, such as housing... utilities... clothing... medication... transportation to work, not to increase your entertainment budget. Comparing a tax credit that was instituted to allow more people to become home owners and spur the housing market to willful misuse of food stamps is asinine. You are now simply trying to illogically justify something that common sense and ethics dictates as wrong while trying to make it seem as if others are vilifying food stamps and their proper use.

I am done with the OT banter, back to the deals.

I paid LMAO I am really kind of thinking it might be best to hold off on some of this stuff though because it seems like Target runs various men's/women's C9 on sale quite a bit. And with BTS I would think more clothes might be on sale. C9 has been featured as the weekly wow sometimes too.....which in and of itself is not usually that much of a 'wow' but with the coupon out now it could be.

I really was joking about the mumu (do they even make those?) but wear whatever works for ya at this stage in the game. I always felt like a moose at my last appointments - like, why even weigh me at this point?!
*laugh* Well... I feel like a moose too... But, it'll be all over soon!! I would love some sundresses or something - something loose and light. I think that would be the biggest help right now. I get so hot, and my skin is very easily annoyed with the fabric rubbing against it, so that would probably work perfectly.

I've had the most rude folks in the parking lots lately, so I don't even bother looking for close spots anymore. I just park at the first available one I come to.

I was thinking about the same thing. DD wants a pair of shorts to workout with, so I may go see if they have some clearanced ones later - but otherwise there may be some decent deals when school rolls around.

You no/low carbers out there - what are good snacks I can pick up for a picky DD and my not-quite-as-picky dh?? This diet for them is so going to kill our budget... *sigh*

ETA:

Oh, I got a 10% off your baby registry coupon today. Has anyone used this before? Could I add something (like a dresser or shelves) and then use the q? TIA
