Well, thank you!! Cuz today I've felt like nothing but a big grump and then worse/guilty because of it!!!

I've either wanted to yell or cry all day. I guess it's just one of those days. *sigh* Tomorrow - I hope it dawns nicely.

I do have plans to go hang out for a little bit with a girlfriend of mine, so that will be nice. Well... it should be... laugh out loud Of course, we'll be surrounded by 7 kids under 6... so *that* should be very interesting!

Sorry, but by definition, there's no "foolproof" way to guesstimate anything. Wink

Adjustable waist pants/shorts are always nice if you can find them. The recent Cherokee jeans at T that went 75% off all had them.

It does seem to get a *little* easier to plan after they get a little older. I've been fairly lucky so far buying DS1 (who turns 8 in a couple weeks) "the next size up" -- whatever that might be. At T, that's been a size 8 in pants and a size L in shirts. (Although I just bought a pair of 75% off size 10 shorts with -- you guessed it! -- an adjustable waist. Wink I figured he could wear them for the rest of this summer and definitely all of next summer.)

But DS2, who's two-and-a-half? No such luck. He's big for his age, but often falls inbtw sizes or has a growth spurt at the worst time (at least wrt clothes). But, if you can get them cheap enough, even if 2-3 items end up not working out, you're still saving money compared to buying them full price "in season."

HTH -- a little. Wink

Nothing much to report around here. I did a shopping trip this evening, and drove back home, only to pull in the driveway and realize I had left my purse back at Safeway. Faint And of course, I had not gone to the SW near my house because the only cashier at night is a dude who I swear hates me. I had driven to the next town over. So had to drive back. Someone had brought it inside, thankfully. And the delightful manager whom I had just dealt with 10 mins prior (please insert HEAVY sarcasm) handed it to me with not so much as a howdy-do. Well, hmph. Not my problem that you don't know your own store's policies!!!

My littlest one has been lethargic today and has had a fever, gradually getting worse. While I was at SW, hubby called and said it was 103.4. OMG He gave her some medicine and it seemed to be helping. Gotta go check on her. No other systems, other than she's listless and clingy. Definitely gonna keep an eye on her. I'm hoping its just a virus of some sort that her body is fighting.

And that is SO hilarious about that reporter and coupons! Thanks, Smeg, for pointing out that lovely post. Wink Made my night. I KNEW it was sour grapes!!!!! Big Grin

Ahhhhhhhhh, thanks for the tips gals. I need to remember to make sure to save back the stuff from this summer too - I bet over half of it will end up fitting next year. At least the tops. I dunno about the pants but I seem to be finding plenty of cheap bottoms at T. lately - usually it's tops that I find more of. That's why this all came about...pretty decent markdowns here today for her sizes. And all of a sudden I was standing there holding stuff up trying to figure out what size I was gonna buy.

And on the topic of clothing why don't they make more Toy Story stuff that's geared toward girls?? I feel like my home has been invaded by boy stufflaugh out loud

For the same reason they don't make Kai-Lan pjs for boys. The clothing designers have a lot of gender bias, make a lot of assumptions. Mad I don't have a problem with putting my 2 yr old ds in pink pjs but would be nice if we had some in his favorite colors of red and yellow.

If you have to guess what your child will wear in 2 years you don't have enough kids. You need at least four kids so you can cover your bases. If one can't wear it, another one sure as heck can!

That's my motto anyhow

LOL dreeme! I'm working on my little crew....

Thankfully, we have enough kids at our church that someone usually has some kind of hand-me-downs to share if we can't make it through a season.

Same here. My girls have basically worn the same sizes for a while now. Helps when they hit those teen years- usually grow taller, wear a larger shoe size, need a larger bra size (don't tell them I said that laugh out loud) but otherwise, pretty much the same size. The boys are 8 and 2 so I know I have a lot of clothing sizes to go through before they reach their expected adult heights of 6'2 or so.

Kind of related- just before ds#1 turned 3, we took him on a roller coaster. He met the minimum height requirement of 42 inches tall. Ds#1 is the exact same age in months now and is 2 inches shorter than his brother was, and a good 7 lbs less. He looks like a shrimp compared to the older kids. look around

flugette, hope your dd is feeling better soon.

btw too bad some of you with younger/ smaller kids don't live nearby. I have lots of Rubbermaid crates of kids clothing in my basement. I really need to have a garage sale.

Anyone know why the T carts don't have cupholders? That is my one pet peeve about getting a drink while I'm shopping... it always tips over in the cart.

I know it's the interwebs and all, but why do people have to butcher the English language (and it's spelling) so much on there?

A little l late on this topic but the way I always did , was if it's summer and I'm buying for next summer look at the size they are wearing now and age they are now for little ones and do this : ex age 12 mo summer / wearing 18 mo /next summer will be 24 months buy 24 mo+ 1 sz so I buy 2 T . Has usually worked for me . Does that make sense to you gals ?

Two sets of closet rods worked well for me , cut the closet in half length wise , one rod about three feet below the other.( I used one of those pressure shower curtain rods , that pushes against both walls) didn't need dh to install it lol hung everything that didn't fit yet on hangers sorted by size worked like a charm.
