I'm so sad I havnt even got out of my PJs today, and have not cooked a single meal for the kids, they made thier own cereal for brkfst and Gma brought over McDs for lunch.
I used to be a Kohl's addict, about 2 years ago, until I had so much Rachel Ray, Circulon, and Christmas stuff that I could have started my own store. ha! It was a riot trying to catch the items come back instock at 90% off. It happened randomly and just searching on different servers made a difference. But, now, there are so many people watching for that stuff that it isn't worth it to me. But, with the 90% off, and the Kohls card giving you an additional 30% most times, Free Shipping, etc.... things cost very little.
But, today, I know that there are still a few secrets, ... if you look at the Kohls Thread, there is something called "SCT" this is a "saved cart trick", and in that thread a lot of people post them as they find them. What the deal is.... for example....
This SHIRT [kohls.com] is $14.40 but... if you were to
1.Log into your account
2. Add the shirt to the cart
3. Log out and hit "SAVE CART"
4 the next time you log back into your account that shirt is in your cart with a total price of $7.20
The thing is, you have NO idea which items this will work on. But, if you EVER order from Kohls, it is always worth going thru this process to see if any of your items will be lower if you were to sign out and in.
Sorry if that is confusing and no use to anyone.... ha!!
Oh, and the other thing that is nice, there are many times that you can add more than one discount code when ordering. (unless that has changed recently.)
THANKS everyone! Looks like Papa has been busy and will continue to be!
S&H is kinda high though, so only a deal if there's other stuff you want too

And now for the baby update...
I am 4 cm dilated. Woo hoo... Doc said she could feel the baby's head. Actually, she said "I am touching the baby's head right now..." I asked what happens if I go past the 20th, and she looked down at me and with a serious voice said "I don't think you'll go that far."
They did schedule me for an appt. next Weds. She said that if baby's not here, then depending on the schedule I could opt to induce on that Friday. I figure that if we don't get an 8/9/10 bday, then Friday the 13th sounds fun. *laugh*
I say excuse me... she says, "Oh, sorry, this is what happens when you shop with coupons!"
No, hon, it's not. I nearly nearly peed my pants I was laughing so hard.
Paprikash is SUPER easy to make... Boil the heck out of a bunch of chicken in a big stock pot - scoop out the chicken and set aside - reserve broth... sautee up a bunch of onions/peppers (add salt & pepper as you wish and add generous amounts of paprika - Hungarian is best if you have it, but really any kind is great)... pull chicken from the bone (or chop up if you did breasts) and combine with the onions/peppers. I usually make this a few hours ahead and put the chicken and onions/peppers in a crock pot. I also add some of the broth from the boiled chicken to it to keep it nice and moist.
Now, with the broth you can reserve some of it for your own chicken stock (if you do like me and really use a huge stock pot and 10 lbs of chicken at a time!), and then save some of it for either boiling noodles (which we rarely do cuz who can resist dumplings???) or dumplings in. The dumplings we do are very simple. You take 3 cups of flour, 3 eggs, 1 tbsp of salt, and enough water (I like to use sour milk or buttermilk actually) to combine into a sticky dough. Now - that's DH's family recipe for the dumplings. *I* add more paprika and sometimes some spices (rosemary, thyme, tiny bit of dill to them - if I do that to the dumplings, I also add the same spices to the onion/pepper mix while cooking because I think it enhances the flavor.) DH says my little additions make the paprikash even better (but don't tell his mom... *laugh*) But it may not be something everyone else likes. You would bring the broth to a boil and then drop spoonfuls of the dumplings into it. When they float, give them another minute or so and they should be done. You can drain or scoop them out, then combine with the chicken/onion/pepper mix. Serve with a dollop of sour cream.
These particular dumplings are thick and dense. I have rolled them out before and cut into smaller bits, but that takes more time... lol. You could also use a bisquick type dumpling - and they tend to be a bit fluffier and lighter. DH doesn't like those kind, though, so I don't do that.
Oh - you could add things like carrots to the dish, but it makes it a bit sweet for my taste.
This sounds WONDERFUL! I am saving it, and will definitely make it when we have a little cooler weather. Sounds like a great Sunday Football lunch, snack, and dinner!!
Curious... HyVee sells those 10 pound bags of chicken thigh WITH leg portions for $3.99 quite often. Would this dark meat work for this recipe, or do you recomment a better cut, like the breast?
TIA!

At any rate, I would actually recommend the 10 lb bag of chicken. I've done chicken breasts before when I know someone is particularly picky, but this is a great recipe for the cheaper stuff and I just like the flavor and moistness/texture better with the leg portions. You can also do a whole chicken if you find 'em cheap - that works too.
Man - with that bogo pledge mq, I wish the TGCQ was still going.
*snip*

My toddler wears a 10. She'll be 3 @ the end of September.
My 13 y.o. wears a 10 1/2 or 11 woman's shoe.
I wear 8 1/2 or 9 woman's.
DH wears 14 1/2.
(gee whiz... wonder where they get their feet from??
Oh - and TM4D - I may be *that* coupon lady lately with my brain deadness, but I would NOT be *that* Wags lady!!! Sheesh!! Has she never heard of common courtesy and going to the back of the line??!!??
I hate those giant kiddie carts. My toddler can figure out how to get out of them, they are unwieldy, and the basket feels like it is 20 feet from you! Plus, when you go to empty your cart - it's harder to keep an eye on your kiddo! Ugh. I guess they may be useful if your kid isn't a wiggle worm/houdini and/or when you have more than 1 toddler - but I just can't stand 'em.
