Went to pick up Papa, and ...EEK!Mad

It was like they were waiting for me. Told me my total was $25+. I told him he must be incorrect. He lets me know that he can see 2 more orders in the future, and they, too will be full price, and that promo ended on 7/31. He was just a jerk about it too.

I started to argue about their order entry system shouldn't have allowed it, and he starts telling me how you can place orders for 3 months in advance... and, at that point, it was obvious he was just making crap up.

I simply told him he could keep the pizzas, and left.

I get home, and there is a message saying they are from Papa Johns corporate, and letting me know that the coupons I used were expired, and that the manager of the store would be contacting me to see if I still want the pizzas at full price. She went on to say that their was a limit of 10 pizzas, and she saw that I made a second ID to get around that. (Well.... that part fries my behind, because I had made a second login, because their stupid site wouldn't accept my password, so I gave up on it. And... I never got TEN pizzas.)

I wouldn't be upset at all about it, but oh my goodness they were rude. The corporate lady sounded like a biatttch!. And, I always bought something or extra toppings on my pizzas, so it still sort of surprised me.

Why the heck would it matter if you ordered 10 or not if you bought 10 DVD's?! And the promo DID end 7/31 but you REDEEMED them before 7/31. This must be a store specific vendetta against you b/c I've heard of several people picking up pizzas this week.

Redeemed is redeemed IMO. It didn't say pizza must be picked up by 7/31 did it? I picked up two yesterday after work with no problem at all. SOrry they gave you such a hard time.

I have a hard time believing a rep from corporate would call you on a Saturday night - more like someone from that branch pretending to be corporate. Did she leave you her name and number? And hopefully you didn't erase that message yet...

Teehee Yeah, I know. Oh well. Thanks for all the advice and PMs about the mixers. I just went to T and picked one up off the shelf. It's beautiful and I love it. Just got off the phone with my bff who was SHOCKED that I went out and spent that kind of money on something I wanted, just for me. She was really proud of me, because I tend to be kind of... shall we say... frugal... when it comes to getting stuff for myself.

I'm sorry to hear that you had such a hard time as well. We haven't had any problems yet, I hope it stays that way.

I was definitely surprised. My caller ID says it is from Papa Johns Pizza... phone number was 502-261-4691

The call was actually at 4:42pm, and I didn't make it to the PJ's until 4:55, so oddly enough, the telephone call came first.

It is kinda funny how these types of Freebies going bad, actually sours my taste from ordering from them again. (Meaning... spending money there.) I am not a tough person to please, ... if they would have politely said that there was a computer error that allowed me to order, and it was out of their control, and offered me the pizzas at LEAST AT THE CURRENT discounted price. But, no..... Can you imagine EVER paying $25+ for two of those pizzas? just silly.

Was this one $10.00 certificate per purchase or a 10.00 for every $10.00 spent ?
It was per purchase. At the last store I went to, I found patriotic hats marked down to $1/ea, so I got 3. Separately. nod Got a $10 card each time.

Flu - I just missed this in IL. But, I can tell you what I know about those certs and you most certainly can use more than one at a time (maybe you just need a jedi, IDK, but it does work). GA & Fl just had these a few weeks ago. You can also combine with the $5 eBay q's so even if only one at a time, use with the email q's. Wink
Nice! I'm nervous to try it out, but I may tomorrow. I still have 6 to use up, and it would be nice to do it all in one fell swoop. I feel bad taking up too much time at the register - every time I've been in the store, they are SLAMMED. Lines and everything. Crazy, because I personally don't find tax-free to be that much of a deal, but I guess others see it differently.

So I threw together another yard sale today, and considering it was gorgeous weather and the tax-free holiday, I think I did fairly well. $330. Traffic was very slow, so I feel blessed to have done that well. Razors moved very well today, after having sat for a while. Shampoo and toothpaste also moved very well. And slowly but surely, my Strawberry Shortcake bandaids are moving. Big Grin Cereal is a steady seller, as are granola bars. I definitely need more cleaning supplies, though. Need to hit up Safeway for their Scrubbing Bubbles and Pledge Multi-Surface.

And the most hilarious news of the day - two months ago, one of our yard sale signs was stolen. It affected our sales severely, as it was the one right out on the main road, pointing to our house, and we have no idea how long it was gone before we noticed it. I was so upset, but hubby was even more so. He vowed he would always be on the lookout, and whenever he saw it, he swore he'd take it back. (ours are rather distinctive - we took election signs after last fall's election, turned the plastic inside out, and have neon posterboard signs stapled with black words and arrows, no way to confuse ours with someone else's) So around 7:30 this morning, my sister called and said she thought she had seen our sign on a road near her house (she lives a couple miles from us, in the same general neighborhood). Hubby went out to get change and drove by that street, and lo and behold!, it was OUR SIGN!!

Never have I seen a prouder hubby than when he walked around the corner balancing two McD's iced teas and our yard sale sign, grinning from ear to ear. Big Grin

OK, off to bed after an exhausting but fun day!! We took the kids to a water park after their naps, and then I ran to RA to finish up the deals for this week. Now my bed and my book are calling me.

Night all! Have a lovely Sunday tomorrow!!!

Nono Every time I go to pick mine up, I see the sign 8.00 each for two medium pizzas, so I wonder where they came up with 25.00? Was the area code on the phone number yours?

Nope. 502 is Kentucky, and I am in South Dakota.

And, I agree about the price of the Medium Pizzas.... They are always on sale for something like that. The guy seemed to be on a power trip.

Oh well..... maybe it is for the best not eating pizza tonite. Except for.... I hit McDonalds on the way home, because ever since Ank mentioned her craving for McDonald's fries, they have been on my mind. LMAO
