you are so lucky you weren't around for the pantene and glade deals when we didn't have wikis. this is nothing. just imagine page after page of lurkers and newbies asking *where do i find the pantene coupons?*. that's actually one reason why i started doing the recaps.

i'm just shocked at the post #'s of some of the lurkers coming out of the woodwork now. one lurker had 23 posts since Jan 2005.

As far as schooling goes, I love the flexibility like that.. We work alot of times on the weekends to make up for missing days.. sick days, days we are out doing stuff, or days we just don't feel like working. As long as all the work gets done, I am good. I actually let them kinda have control over holiday breaks. I tell them where they need to be in the book (usually almost half way.. like if there are 24 chapters in a book, we need to finish 10) and as soon as they finish that point, they can break for Christmas.. Sometimes, they finish very early in december and other times one child may be working until the 22nd or so.. I am trying to let them learn not to put work off.. of course, this plan doesn't really work for younger elementary kids LMAO but mine are older. They didn't officially start until this week, but they each chose to do some things last week.
Can your DD work on her own without you? If so, she may be able to start some work even while you are still healing and trying to rest.. just a thought ! Mine need most help with math.. alot of their other stuff is reading and vocab/questions they do on their own. I had a friend who had a baby in late March and she worked her schedule so that her kids all finished schooling for the year before the baby was born. I lost a baby 3 years ago (actually exactly 3 years today.. still struggle with the day).. I was at the end of month 3, and I was so sick and very depressed. We didn't start school that year until OctoberEEK! But, it all worked out in the end.. They were fine.

Speaking of school. My oldest started college yesterday and came home and said "it was pretty good.. none of my instructors seemed like jerksLMAO" I think he will be in for a reality shock when the work load actually starts. My favorite class he is taking is communications/public speaking.. it should be a great learning experience since he won't speak to anyone.. He won't even go into a place a fill out an application. He wants to do them all "online".. This should help him ALOT!

There are many different shippers to transport cars.

I guess so! I am still trying to get exact locations..etc and will let everyone know when I find out.

Can anyone give a recommendation on a good store bought pizza crust? I don't really want to make my own crust and the kids want homemade pizza. I saw the Archer Farm or Market Pantry ones yesterday but a little scared to try it. I've used the Boboli (sp?) before but wasn't too impressed.

Ank, your box went out today. I will PM you the DC number when I find it in the bottomless pit of hell called my purse.

ooooh what's the deal with kroger and granola bars?
To add to the other suggestions - you can buy the frozen bread dough, let it thaw, then use it as a pizza crust. Tastes almost homemade. In fact, that's what my mom used before she found her pizza crust recipe.

The bolded part may be the problem... *lol* I think Jiffy makes a boxed pizza crust mix, and I've actually done the pillsbury pizza crust and it's not too bad for what it is. *shrug*

Thank you for the box!! I'm excited! Big Grin

And the granola bars - the Nature Valley stuff is included in the buy 8 get $4 off your order - and I think they run about 1.99ish each after the sale. There's a catalina deal for $3.50 OYNO wyb 5. There are various IP's for the stuff too, and eq's you can load to your card. So fairly cheap/freeish stuff after factoring in all the q's/sale/eq's/oyno etc...

hug

I'd take 'em if I was close enough! I hope you feel better!!

hug I'm so sorry to hear about your baby. Comfort I can't even imagine what it would be like.

I am glad for the flexibility of homeschooling - it's definitely less stressful that way. I think DD could probably work on her own, so maybe I will do that. It's a new curriculum, so I hate to just throw it at her, but if she struggles we could just go ahead and put it off and not be worse for the wear. Math will definitely be her biggest issue.
There's a similar deal at Safeway for the NV granola bars. Except they're 1.49/ea after the sale, then minus qs and eqs and plus cat. Not a bad deal at all. BC fruit snacks are included and have their own separate cat. They are .99/ea after sale, which makes for free/MM fruit snacks. I'm hopefully going to use up the rest of my qs this evening. I'm not a huge fan of the fruit roll-ups for my kids, but my grown brother (who is still pretty much a kid anyway!) LOVES them, so I'll give them to him.

My mom has put very gentle pressure on me to homeschool, but I honestly will never do it, unless we move somewhere where the only option is public school. For me, public school is not an option - I know they would send Jaden down the road of spectrum kids, and I won't do that. But where we live right now, the school at our church is excellent, I love my son's teacher, and despite the hefty bill each month, it is so worth it to know he is in a place where he will be loved and educated at the same time. If I were to homeschool, the teeny bit of sanity I have left would be gone within the first week. laugh out loud I have such a hard time keeping myself motivated, I would not be good at all keeping all of us on track. shake head

But major KUDOS to all you moms out there homeschooling your kids! Its a major achievement, and your kids are better for it.

So annoyed - a cashier at HT manually entered my DND coupons so they wouldn't double. That is the FIRST time that has ever happened to me. I had her take them off my order. So annoying. She had a huge line, and yet she was taking the time to be that persnickety. And her reasoning to me was that they wouldn't get reimbursed for the doubling if the coupon said that. Confused Erm, honey, you don't get reimbursed for the doubling no matter WHAT the coupon says!!! That's a store promo. Anyway, she wouldn't budge, so I'll try elsewhere tonight.

Also cleaned up at Rite Aid. Wink Now to plan a run to HT, Safeway, and Target tonight.

I decided to make a pan of lasagna for dinner. Pulled out the Market Pantry box of lasagna noodles, and I see some sort of "stain" on one of the noodles. Pulled it out of the package, and there are stains all along the rippled ridges of one side of the noodle. I look some more, and 3 or 4 noodles have some marks on them. It looks like either grease from the machine that processed them or ink from the packaging. Either way, it was hard to get off my hands after I touched the noodle.

I called CS and they are going to send me a coupon for a free box of lasagna. Whoopee. Seems like it'd be worth more than that to them.

hug for today. The 5th anniversary of our daughter's birth is this October. I'm trying to decide on something special for her. Maybe naming a star.

Several years ago, I had a root canal and crown done on a lower molar. Went to the dentist a few weeks ago because I thought another tooth on that side was having issues. No, the crown (as on, entire top portion of the tooth) broke at the gumline. There was one sliver of the top portion that was keeping the crown in place. Today, I had the tooth pulled and it was not very cooperative.

hug to all those that have experienced the loss of a baby. I have four kids and I have had 3 miscarriages. It's very difficult to find strength to continue on when so many questions are left unanswered. My sister had her baby last October 16 weeks early. He lived for 10 days and died in her arms as she rocked him and kisses his tiny lips.

It has by far been the most humbling tragedy I have ever witnessed in my entire life. I think about him daily and I'd give anything to be able to have him back. The night he died I watched out the glass windows in NICU at the world moving along outside and wanted to reach out my hands and stop time. I wanted everyone to feel what we were feeling.

Alright. That's all. Sorry for the book. Doesn't take much to get me rambling.

I have a happy anniversary today, as 23 years ago today I started working for the Navy in Northern Virginia as an engineer.

Moved back closer to home in 2000 to take care of my Dad (and now work for the Army instead).

When I miscarried, my OB (wonderful, wonderful man) told me that 1 in 3 pregnancies end in miscarriage, most before mom even knows she is pregnant. Dreeme, such a sad story, glad your sis was able to be with him through his short, but impactful life!
